00:00The Department of National Defense has assessed China's involvement in the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources of BFAR in Bajo de Masinloc.

00:08The government has emphasized the importance of having more radars in the country.

00:13First news is from Chino Gaston.

00:15Welcome, the Japan Minister of Defense.

00:19One of the first Japanese Defense Ministers to visit was Tani Jeng,

00:23the BASA Air Base and Wallace Air Base Radar Facility in San Fernando, La Union.

00:28Here, two radar systems were found that the Philippines bought in Japan in 2024 for P5 billion.

00:35Two more radar systems will arrive.

00:38According to Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro,

00:40radar systems like these are an important part of the maritime domain capability of the Philippines.

00:47And more radars will be needed to be placed in different parts of the country.

00:52Given the fact that we are an archipelagic country, it's important

00:56because the domain extends far beyond our land borders.

01:00And we have to know if there is any activity within our EEZ.

01:06It is extremely important, not only with the capabilities that radars provided by Japan

01:14and some purchased by our government, but also our other domain awareness capabilities.

01:22Minister Katani and Secretary Teodoro will help to discuss the other aspects of the defense relations between the Philippines and Japan.

01:31This is while the ratification of the Japanese government of the Reciprocal Access Agreement is still ongoing.

01:37The agreement is for the training and assistance of the Philippine troops in Japan

01:43like the Visiting Forces Agreement of the Philippines and America.

01:47As for China's interference in the B-4 airplane in Bajo de Masinloc,

01:52it was put forward by Secretary Teodoro.

01:55It once again demonstrates that China is not a party that respects any form of international law

02:04or any form of dependability.

02:07They have not been a credible citizen of the world.

02:11According to Teodoro, China is pushing for the establishment of other defense agreements in other countries

02:19like Canada, New Zealand, and France

02:23to prevent China from violating international law.
