00:00Zelensky is a dictator. I'm not saying that, Trump did. Let's have a look.
00:04A dictator without elections. Zelensky better move fast or he's not going to have a country
00:09left. Got to move, got to move fast because...
00:12U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Zelensky haven't always had the
00:16best relationship. They've always tried to keep it cordial, but in just 48 hours their
00:21already fragile relationship completely ripped apart.
00:24Trump, as mentioned earlier, called Zelensky a dictator, a dictator without elections to
00:29be more precise. What does he mean by that?
00:32Ukraine has not held elections since the Russia-Ukraine war began in 2022, and Zelensky would have
00:36faced a re-election campaign in 2024. However, the country entered a state of martial law
00:41and under Ukraine's constitution, it's illegal to hold national elections during this period.
00:46Anyway, back to Trump. He didn't stop by calling Zelensky a dictator, he also accused him of
00:50starting the war and making the U.S. pay for it.
00:53Referencing Zelensky's career in entertainment before he entered politics, Trump labeled
00:57Zelensky as a modestly successful comedian.
01:01But the Ukrainian president fired back, accusing Trump of living in a disinformation space
01:05crafted by Russia. And did you know that in 2024, Zelensky told The New Yorker magazine
01:10that he didn't feel Trump knew how to stop the war, questioning his ability. Trump, as
01:16usual, didn't let it slide.
01:18Look at the war in Ukraine, and I think it's something we have to have a quick discussion
01:22about because the president of Ukraine is in our country, and he's making little nasty
01:29aspersions toward your favorite president, me.
