00:00Is it safe to assume that last night lived up to the hype?
00:21I mean, look, putting aside like, hey, I'm disappointed the United States lost.
00:25It feels like this game had an immense amount of hype on it and it delivered.
00:30And it had an immense amount of hype because of what they did in the first time they played.
00:35That game was so amazing.
00:36I know we were texting back and forth during that game.
00:38That game was so amazing that it set up for, are we going to get 2.0 of that?
00:43Yeah.
00:44And you got the same physicality.
00:46You got the same speed of the game.
00:48You got those things without as much of the chippiness to start, obviously.
00:52But there was still chippiness throughout the game that was a really great part of it.
00:56I thought, Kevin, while I was watching it, I think somewhere in the third period, I was
01:00watching these guys fly around on the ice and I was like, this is the highest level
01:04hockey I think I've ever seen.
01:07This is the best.
01:08They're flying.
01:10For one, once one offense makes a move this way, they're turning back around and going
01:15the other way as fast as they can because that's how Canada plays.
01:19They're amazing.
01:21If in most cases on NHL night, you're like, oh, that team just got destroyed.
01:24Well, because they're so good, they're able to catch up.
01:27That was the great part of it was it was a very delicate window that they were able to
01:31make goals happen here.
01:33And it was awesome to watch.
01:35And I want to shout out, Alec, and then I want to get your thoughts about the hype level
01:39and how you took this game in and everything.
01:41But I want to shout out some of the specific individual defending moments because you had
01:48Slaven who stopped what looks like it would have been a wide open net goal.
01:53Which one?
01:54The one where he like his skate or stick did it or the one where he laid on the ground
02:00and had one of the coolest saves I've seen.
02:02That was the stick.
02:03Eichel right after that had no stick and he stopped it with the skate, which I thought
02:07was incredible.
02:08Man, the last 12 to 18 months have really been like the match of the hype behind Jack
02:14Eichel because, you know, for a while, like obviously you moved teams and everything,
02:17but it was a struggle, man.
02:19You have seen him really announce himself.
02:21And then as much as I hate to say this, overtime was the best that Team USA had played all
02:27night.
