00:00Signaling the most important issues for health and talking with the Ministry to find solutions to such issues, from the training of young surgeons to the lack of doctors, from the problem of salaries to the use and enhancement of new technologies such as artificial intelligence.
00:21This is the goal of the Italian College of Surgeons, representing about 47 companies in the sector, for about 45,000 Italian professionals, organizing the second national meeting entitled Surgery in Italy, proposed by the surgical companies,
00:36held in Rome on the occasion of the National Assembly CIC of the Italian College of Surgeons, which saw the participation of all directors and presidents of the various surgical companies.
00:47The training for young surgeons is very important and for this purpose we have devised a questionnaire that has been sent to all the speciality schools and we have already collected more than 600 answers and therefore we will talk about the satisfaction or less that our specialists have in the various schools.
01:12Another important thing is the absolute need for doctors, which in Italy unfortunately are lacking. The reason is in several points. The first point is the lack of political programming, as we know that 3,000 doctors go to retirement every year and are not replaced.
01:34The interest nourished by the Italian College of Surgeons is great also in relation to the new technologies, their sustainability for the national health system and the artificial intelligence applied to the health sector.
01:46We know that from 23 to 40 hours per week are returned to bureaucratic problems, both by doctors and nurses. Now, artificial intelligence can clearly reduce this work.
02:02Another incredible field of application is that of imaging and radiology, with a speed of radiological exams and much safer diagnosis in accordance with the guidelines and therefore I believe that artificial intelligence must be applied in the various ASLE.
02:24The Italian College of Surgeons launched an appeal to the Ministry of Health, to whose vertex there is the request to conclude the legal-medical issue by instituting a super-partis commission that evaluates the issues before each practice in order to reduce the number of complaints.
02:40The second thing is to intervene on the issue of new technologies, because it has a very relevant weight also on the economic issue. Therefore, to dictate at the central level on the congruity and on the number, for example, of robots and new important and expensive technologies that are proposed.
03:07The other thing is to encourage artificial intelligence, because only 26% of companies have invested in this field.
