Former Giants superstar Lawrence Taylor recently called out Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons on a podcast, saying, “He’s a great player. But guys, let’s do more. Let’s play more football and less podcasts.” Is Lawrence Taylor the right person to advise players on off-field behavior? Is Parsons' podcasting a distraction, or does it even matter? Parsons’ unapologetic nature and lack of filter have led to multiple controversies, many wonder if his podcasting impacts his focus and his performance with the Cowboys.

00:00That is a natural conflict that I think has has come up for the Cowboys before of just
00:21like you're you're a football player and you're in season and you're supposed to be focusing
00:25on this. And then when you're the head of football content at Bleacher Report, a lot
00:30of your your stuff that you're going to do there is driving engagement for your content
00:35and everything's like that. And that's probably going to put you in a position where you're
00:38going to feel like you need to say things or talk about things that the Cowboys be like
00:41are counter to being focused on the season. Right. And potentially you if you're if you're
00:47weighing in on boy, the Giants are the dumbest team in the world for letting Saquon Barkley
00:52go and you're saying that on your podcast, you're playing the Giants a couple weeks.
00:55Some guys may be like, why are you saying that? Don't don't even talk about it. I think
00:59that is or loving Jordan Love right or having him right on like, dude, this guy just kicked
01:04their ass. What are you doing? Why are you doing that? It's it's it's it's impossible
01:08to define on paper. Yeah. You know, you have to guess and have an opinion based on it affecting
01:14you. It's something in the air that you try to quantify. I bet there I bet there are plenty
01:19of teammates and coaches and other people in the organization who don't even have an
01:24awareness of yeah, I know Micah does a podcast. It doesn't bug me. It doesn't even then I'm
01:28sure there are other people. What did Malik say about him? What was that thing between
01:31him and Hooker? I don't remember what the statement was. But yeah, let me look it up.
01:36Like digs is totally fine with it. And Malik hooker a tank Lawrence may not be to your
01:43point of being split in the building. But what did Malik say? My advice for Micah would
01:47be just make sure we're all right and being where your feet are. Because if we're at work
01:52and the run games terrible, but you're doing a podcast every week and you know, the run
01:56game is terrible. Then what are you really caring about? And that was something that
02:00I think that was a tense point for those two past training camp. So there's Lawrence Taylor
02:06saying yeah, Micah Parsons. He's going to be a Hollywood actor one day. He's got the
02:10personality. I do want to add that for the context because I listened to the end of the
02:13clip but saying how about a little less podcast a little more football. And I mean, to be
02:19fair not the podcast specifically. We were all saying the same things last offseason
02:24about his his content trips to Japan and different things. I had about like dude, why are you
02:29not in there learning the new defense and and being around your new defensive coordinator
02:33and different things like that? Why is why are you off here doing these things and prioritizing
02:37that?
