00:00PAS Deputy President Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has dismissed claims that a pro-DAP faction

00:06exists within the party.

00:09The Kubang Keryan MP said such claims were typically made by outsiders who are not party

00:13delegates responsible for electing its leadership, which includes university lecturers turned

00:18political analysts who are perceived to support PAS' rivals.

00:22We don't need to categorise people because we don't like them, so we ban them as pro-DAP.

00:30The root of the problem is that we don't like them.

00:32In PAS, there are no groups that support DAP.

00:39He said if any PAS members or leaders were truly inclined towards DAP, they would be

00:44better off joining the party given the fundamental differences in their political ideologies,

00:49which led to the two parties to part ways.

00:52On Saturday, Dewan Ulama Committee member Mokhtar Senik said the party does not need

00:57input from DAP or individuals friendly to it when determining PAS' leadership line-up

01:02for the upcoming elections.

01:04However, Mokhtar did not elaborate on his statement or reveal the identity of the individuals

01:10he referred to as friendly to DAP.

01:14To date, no DAP leaders have been reported to have publicly expressed any views or suggestions

01:19regarding PAS' leadership elections, which are set to take place at its 70th Muktamar

01:24in Kedah this September.
