00:00Hi there. There will be a significant change to milder but wetter weather later this week.
00:06However, for the time being, most of the UK will experience colder and drier weather for
00:11the rest of Tuesday, certainly across much of England and Wales. It's a bright afternoon
00:15but it stays cold with a southeasterly breeze, especially for central and eastern parts.
00:20Scotland and Northern Ireland, cloudier skies and after earlier rain and hill snow, that's
00:25tending to push north and fizzle away. So it's really the far north of Scotland affected
00:30by that by the end of the afternoon. Staying cold, 3-5 Celsius in the east, double figures
00:36in the far south-west. That's the air that's going to become widespread by the end of the
00:41week. But as we go into Tuesday night, it's another chilly night for many. I think the
00:45breeze preventing a widespread frost and certainly there will be some high cloud remaining. But
00:52still it's cold enough for a touch of frost across some central and eastern parts of the
00:56country. Temperatures not far from zero. Meanwhile, it's much milder towards the west and south-west
01:02with wet weather moving into Cornwall and Devon first thing and that spreads across
01:07south Wales, eventually into Northern Ireland and across central parts of the UK by the
01:12end of the morning. Brighter skies follow it, so it's an hour or two of heavy rain followed
01:17by drier and finer weather. But it does move into eastern England by the end of the day
01:22and it stays on the cold side in the east, 5 or 6 Celsius, although less cold compared
01:28with the recent days. Scotland mostly dry, albeit cloudy with a few bits and pieces of
01:33rain. But here's the truly wet stuff that arrives into Northern Ireland, Wales and the
01:38south-west after the middle of the afternoon. It's going to progress across the country
01:44and at the same time this area of heavy rain that's working its way eastwards is accompanied
01:50by a change in wind direction with south-westerlies and tightening isobars. That of course is
01:55going to lead to widely much milder air across the whole of the country so that by Thursday
02:02many places will be back into the teens or indeed the mid-teens and we're all affected
02:07by that weather by Friday and the weekend as well. But of course it's accompanied by
02:12strong winds with gales in places and heavy bouts of rain, particularly in the west. So
02:17we'll keep you updated on all of that. You can find those updates on our YouTube channel.
