00:00You guys had a very easy chemistry which I thought it looked very non-contrived.
00:06Perhaps you can tell me like are you guys good friends or you hate each other but very good actors? What's the scene?
00:12He actually made me feel very comfortable like we on set that translated very well in front of the camera.
00:20I think a lot of the credit has to go to Dada also because he was putting us in so many situations
00:25and the way he was shooting it was making it feel really unscripted and spontaneous and I think we
00:33benefited from the fact that we were dealing with a very relatable situation it felt quite natural
00:38what we were doing and the things we were saying to each other.
00:41Did you guys while making the movie were you a bit confused or worried about the number of characters, number of episodes, situations, twists etc?
00:48When I first met Dada for the film he gave me a basic idea of our story and that's it.
00:55I did the film because Anurag Basu was directing it and I really wanted to work with him.
00:59I honestly don't know how the film is going to pan out. I'm going to watch it as an audience for the first time.
01:05There was definitely a method to the madness but it was never apparently clear to me what that method was and that's the beauty of working with Dada that it's all in his head and he's got it figured out but it's in his head.
01:17The beauty of working with him also is that you went to set kind of unprepared and just you kind of
01:24succumb to his process and completely you know give in which was a novel experience and a very, very fun and liberating one.
01:32But it's also a leap of faith right especially in this age of like attention to detail.
01:37You get a sense from Dada that there is immense attention to detail. You don't feel like you're
01:44I don't feel like you're working with someone who's just riffing.
01:48He's riffing but he's doing it in a very, very refined way. It is masterful what he's doing and
01:54the way that he uses all the elements of cinema at his disposal to tell a story. So, I don't think
02:00there was any ever any fear or doubt about that. It did take me a couple of days to get used to the
02:08fact that you don't know but out of that came about certain situations where you surprise yourself
02:14where you ended up doing things that you would never have been able to if you had planned it or
02:21had time to figure it out. So, you're basically working from instinct and every day becomes a
02:26much more vital experience because you're and you're there and supposed to react and make it
02:31happen in the moment. So, it was a learning that there are so many different processes out there
02:38to do the things that we do and showed you another way to approach it.
02:42It was a breather for me. I was quite relaxed for the first time as an actor. I was going on set
02:46without doing my homework which I really like to do. I'm a kind of an actor who likes to do my
02:51homework, also get into the skin, know everything about her, the backstory but this was the first
02:56time I had no idea and it was quite relaxing. I just trusted Dada with everything. It's a good
03:02experience as an actor in a new one when you don't have anything in hand and you just have to
03:08be there in the moment.
03:09Do you think this is like a breath of fresh air, this movie?
03:11It's a good time of the year for the film to release. It's Diwali and I think everyone wants to
03:16watch something fun and entertaining.
03:18And people really need that sort of a distraction from what is actually happening around us.
03:24What do you want the audience to take away from this fun movie?
03:27I think in this one it's just for them to be entertained. I just want them to have a good
03:32laugh and to just have a good time and be entertained and watch it. Spend their two and a half hours well.
03:40With their family on Diwali, on 12th. Watch it and then re-watch it whenever you want on Netflix.
03:57you
