00:00Thanks to the combination of academic, industrial and manufacturing excellences,
00:09Veneto can be considered among the diamonds of the Italian space economy.
00:13It is supported by the Veni Sustainability Foundation and the Boston Consulting Group,
00:23which, starting from the observation of the development of the global aerospace market,
00:27highlight the peculiarities of the third region for PIL,
00:30whose growth potential for the space economy is still largely unexpressed.
00:35In 2022, the aerospace and defense sector generated in Veneto 1.1 billion,
00:42equivalent to 0.6% of the PIL.
00:45We have built a work done by researchers of the Foundation
00:52and the Boston Consulting Group,
00:54together with the participation of a whole group of interested partners,
00:59putting in this study two methods.
01:03On the one hand, studying the characteristics of the success of the aerospace cluster
01:12in different global geographies,
01:16and on the other hand, studying this type of application
01:22on the characteristics of the Veneto entrepreneurial fabric,
01:26involving a series of Veneto companies
01:30that either deal directly with this sector
01:34or have a prospect of what is called a jump of the line.
01:40Through some clear strategies,
01:42such as the strengthening of collaboration between public and private,
01:45the attraction of government and industrial investments
01:48and the creation of synergies between universities and industry,
01:51Veneto could move from the current supply of specialized components
01:55to the production of entire space systems,
01:58such as satellites and advanced communication tools,
02:01generating an important impact not only on the PIL, but also on the occupation.
02:06Within a space economy that we expect will exceed
02:09over 1 billion dollars worldwide in the coming years,
02:13for Veneto we see the possibility of reaching
02:16about 5 billion impact on the PIL
02:19and the creation of over 2,000 high-value jobs.
