00:03Before we get ready, let's get to know the weather forecast,

00:07especially since there are still three weather systems that are causing rain in a large part of the country.

00:12Weather Specialist John Manalo will bring it to us.

00:17Good afternoon, Ma'am Naomi.

00:19For our update, the shear lines in the extreme north and the south are currently being affected.

00:26To recap, the shear line is where the wind from the northeast monsoon, or the Amihan, meets

00:34and the easterlies from the Pacific Ocean, which is hotter.

00:38Because our easterlies usually come from the equatorial region and are more popular during the day.

00:45Where the two wind systems meet, the cold and hot winds, that's where the shear line happens.

00:52And in the shear line, that's where the convective activity happens.

00:59And our shear line is currently being affected, mainly in Batanes and Baboyan Islands,

01:05the extreme northern Luzon Trito.

01:07And they will experience a cloudy sky with scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms,

01:14or the lightning and thunderstorms.

01:17The easterlies are the ones that are affected in the eastern section of Luzon and Visayas.

01:22Particularly here in the Bicol region, eastern Visayas, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon.

01:29We will experience a cloudy sky with scattered rain and thunderstorms, again in the easterlies.

01:38We are expecting a cloudy sky in the western part of Mindanao.

01:46This is still accompanied by isolated rain showers and thunderstorms brought by the ITCZ.

01:52In Metro Manila, this Valentine's Day, we will experience a cloudy sky,

02:00but there are still chances of thunderstorms and isolated thunderstorms in some areas.

02:06In short, let's enjoy this day.

02:37We did not raise any gale warnings,

02:41but we are still warning our countrymen, especially in the extreme northern Luzon,

02:48because we still have moderate to rough,

02:51which means there are still strong thunderstorms that we will experience.
