00:00Patrick Mahomes is only 29 years old. We'll see about Travis Kelsey's football future, but Andy Reed is coming back for at least another year in 2025.
00:09This era, though, Zeno, of KC's dynasty run, has come to a close. What is your expectation for the next portion of what Kansas City is going to do starting in 2025?
00:22It's really a transitional period. I know Andy Reed says he's back for how much longer? I don't know. Travis Kelsey obviously is mulling retirement and what this all looks like.
00:32Sure, they're going to get Rasheed Rice back, but I think over time you're going to start to see the Chiefs come back down a little bit.
00:40They're not going to lap the field the way they have for the last couple of years, and that's just natural in this state of the NFL.
00:46Everything is cyclical, which is why winning three in a row now is even harder, because keeping all the main pieces together is really, really tough.
00:53You've heard me say it a hundred times. I can't wait to see Patrick Mahomes play a football game without Andy Reed on the sidelines,
00:59because that's really when you find out what the difference is between him and Andy Reed and how much together they are so much better as opposed to apart, similar to Belichick and Brady.
01:09Yes, Brady won a Super Bowl without Belichick, but unless you get another high-level coach in there for Mahomes, it's a huge drop-off from Andy Reed to the next guy.
01:18So I think there's a state of transition coming. I'm not saying the Chiefs are going to be irrelevant or they won't be competitive, but guess what?
01:24You've got three teams in that division now who are all gunning for you to take you down.
01:28Remember, even the Colts, when they won 12 games for nine consecutive years and won the division for nine consecutive years, they went a lot.
01:36And they had a great quarterback and a great coach.
