00:00It was a tough game tonight, but you got the win in the end.
00:13Yeah, obviously we started slow in the first half.
00:17I just think we just made the final slow.
00:20It's been a long week and then we still got another game on Sunday, so I just think guys
00:24were, you know, kind of a little bit of a fatigue, but once the second half hit, I just
00:29told the guys, look, we've got to dial in, we've got to focus.
00:32We know that we can play better.
00:34We know Manchester likes to score in transition, and that's what we were letting them get to
00:38with our turnovers and stuff.
00:39Once we cleaned that up, then we started playing Sheffield Sharks basketball, then we stuck
00:43to the game plan.
00:44Guys got focus and we got the win.
00:46Important to get a win when you're not at your best as well, when you're in a title
00:49race.
00:50Exactly.
00:51Obviously we got a couple of guys out due to injury, and guys have been stepping up.
00:55Give credit to Jordan.
00:57He had a big game today, Jamel.
00:59He stepped up in every way, just kind of being that glue guy for us, doing everything that
01:03the team needs.
01:04And then obviously Prentice and Ricky picked it up in the second half, and you know, it's
01:10always good to get a win because obviously we're trying to be number one in everything,
01:13so we've got to just make sure that we stay consistent with that.
01:16You've been here a number of years now.
01:18How enjoyable was the weekend, Sunday's game, and the atmosphere against Bristol?
01:22Oh man, so enjoyable.
01:23Obviously me being here four years, it took us, you know, me being the captain and all
01:28that stuff, just to see it and be on this team and lead this team, see it into fruition,
01:33see the potential, and also, you know, finally hit our stride, I feel.
01:38You can have expectations on our talent, but we still got to, you know, do the job.
01:43I just feel like for our fans and for the city, it's been a long time coming, and I
01:47just can't wait now that we, you know, we'll see on March 9th, but obviously we want to
01:51be holding up that trophy.
01:52Every player I've spoken to, yourself included, has mentioned, we want to win Silverware this
01:56year.
01:57You're a step closer now.
01:58100%, 100%.
01:59I think we're just working towards the goals that we set out at the start of the season.
02:04We know we have a talented team, we know we have a boundless team, and like I said, like
02:07with that comes, guys have to buy in because we're so talented, which guys have been, and
02:11more so the camaraderie is what, is why I think also we're pulling away games, and we
02:16have guys out, everyone is stepping up, everyone is pulling each other together, being honest
02:20with each other, and you can just see that during the whole season, so it's good as a
02:23captain to not have, you know, other issues where there's ego involved, or, you know,
02:29guys talking about minutes, it's nothing like that.
02:32Cheshire on Sunday though, you've got to keep your eye on the ball, haven't you, when it
02:34comes to the championship?
02:35Yeah, 100%.
02:36I told the guys one game at a time, we know obviously we're looking forward to the final,
02:41but we've still got a regular season to do.
02:43Cheshire's going to be, you know, fast-paced, a lot of threes, a lot of rebounding as well.
02:49They play really good at home, so we've got to be, obviously, mindful of that.
02:54Obviously we'll look to tweak some things due to guys being out, so we've got to adjust
02:57again on how we play, which will be fine, and Atiba will have us hit the ground running
03:02this week and stuff, with, I would say, probably two more days of practice, but yeah, we're
03:06in a good position, I'm excited for Sunday, and then, yeah.
