In der schwarzen Komödie Sister Midnight kommt eine aus einer Kleinstadt stammende junge Frau nach Mumbai, wo sie verheiratet werden soll. Die Ehe ist von ihrer Familie arrangiert, ihr Ehemann nicht der sozialste. Als sich dann auch noch die übergriffigen Nachbarn in ihr neues Leben einmischen, muss sie irgendwie versuchen, ihre eigenen Impulse in den Griff zu bekommen.
