00:19The Arab Hope Makers is a yearly award launched in 2017 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin

00:25Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,

00:30honoring people for their humanitarian projects.

00:36Sheikh Mohammed crowned the Arab Hope Maker 2020 in a grand variety show that saw the public

00:42voting for the grand winner after watching the inspiring stories of the five finalists

00:47whose humanitarian projects and efforts led to a positive change in their respective communities.

00:55For Al-Falassi, his humanitarian mission started on a personal note.

00:59He was devastated when his mother died of kidney failure.

01:05His grief, however, was turned into a humanitarian mission.

01:08He visited hospitals in Kenya to see the conditions.

01:15I visited the dialysis center they have and they have two machines,

01:20one machine 25 years ago and one machine around 27 years ago.

01:24One machine was working, second machine was just imagine how many thousands of these people.

01:31Each one make a dialysis every six months and that's why they had a lot of dying.

01:38Al-Falassi also set up a kidney dialysis section that has supported 8,000 patients

01:44and established a newborn unit with 570 beds and incubators

01:48to benefit around 17,000 newborns monthly.
