00:00Hello Caden, how was your winter?
00:06Yeah, it's been good, preparation so far, no injuries or sickness really, so prepared
00:14as best I can and hopefully continue in this direction.
00:19In the last two years you didn't do Down Under in Australia, why is this choice not
00:29racing in your home country?
00:33For me it's more of a timing thing, I think it's too early in the season for me to be
00:38peaking because our Nationals is already at the start of January and then Down Under being
00:43at the end of January, it's already quite early to be racing and for a team like ours
00:50with the Classics being so important, we shift the focus back to be both physically fresher
00:56and mentally fresher for the biggest goals of the year.
01:01Speaking about the Classics, what's your program for the beginning of the season?
01:08Classics block, I plan to start with the Duasdor and then Flanders, Roubaix, Brabant-Chapelle
01:17and finish with Amstel.
01:19And before Duasdor?
01:23Catalonia and San Remo.
01:26Good races for you!
01:29Really happy with the program and looking forward.
01:32Last year you said many times that you want to do the Tour in 2025, will it happen?
01:40It's still too early to say because we need to race the Spring Classics and then my first
01:47plan now is to also start the Giro, so it's still too early to say and we have to wait
01:54to see how the body comes out of the Giro first and if I still have the shape to race
02:00the Tour.
02:01There are good opportunities in the Giro for you, some versatile sprints, do you think
02:09you can win a few stages?
02:11I hope to, last year I was close on a number of occasions but no win, so that was quite
02:17difficult but this year I really have a goal set on the Giro to take a stage win, minimum
02:22one stage and for sure have a good team there to support me.
02:27If you ride the Tour, what will be your role in the team with Mathieu, with Jasper?
02:34It's more of a supporting role but I also think that then we will have a really versatile
02:40team to help Jasper in the pure sprints and Mathieu also in the breakaways and depending
02:47on injury and sickness, I can also be a backup sprinter for the team in case something is
02:53wrong.
02:54So, you are happy with your program?
02:57Yes, I'm really happy.
02:59What will be a good 2025 season for you?
03:03I'm really keen to experience the Classics proper because in the past I've had injury
03:08or sickness and missed a lot of the racing, so for me I'd really like to be a part of
03:13another monument win with Mathieu or Jasper, whether that be likely Flanders or Roubaix
03:18hopefully and then a stage win for myself in the Giro and ideally all going well being
03:25a part of a team win in the Tour also.
03:27Okay, thanks!
