00:00My goal with Starstruck, along with so many other things that we'll create, is I keep
00:09going back and forth with my team.
00:10I go, I want a five-minute makeup kit.
00:14That means in five minutes, I want to be able to do lipstick, liner, mascara, blush or foundation,
00:22whichever combination that we end up choosing, but I really want to make that five-minute
00:27makeup kit for women.
00:29There were a few people where I thought their business brand, how they want to take their
00:35brand forward was very interesting, and we adapted our own style along with things that
00:42we saw would work.
00:43In India, we found that stuff like this doesn't happen, where a brand or a celebrity comes
00:51in and creates something on their own and releases it.
00:55So that's where we thought, okay, well, that's what would make it unique there.
00:58I think that every little girl steals their mother's makeup and starts putting it on,
01:03and then all of a sudden, you're getting in trouble because you smashed the lipstick.
01:08So I remember watching, my mom was really simple.
01:14She wore lipstick, but she also used the lipstick for blush.
01:19So it turned into lipstick, blush, and then if she really wanted to, she'd put a little
01:25bit of lipstick on her face.
01:27But that's what I grew up watching.
01:32My mother didn't always wear a lot of makeup.
01:38She didn't, and that's what I grew up watching.
01:41I think one of the things that always gets a little mixed up is finding your right color
01:49foundation.
01:50What happens is we don't have the right people helping us find our right color, and as women,
02:00we have this distorted view of what we should look like.
02:04No one's there to rectify it, especially if you're at home and you're a mom, you have
02:09kids, and then, you know, I love you.
02:12But if you ask your husband, does this look okay, most husbands say, yeah, you look beautiful.
02:18Because we know what happens if we say no, it turns into like a war.
02:23So they were like, yeah, so like, yeah, it looks good, I can be looking the other way.
02:28I know, but...
02:29Do I look too honest?
02:30We know what the other answer brings, so we're like, yeah, it looks fine, oh, you're over
02:34there, yeah, it looks fine.
02:35I think that's where, you know, the, where the start of doing like your makeup, like
02:40even if you're not someone that wears foundations, but you're someone that maybe wears a little
02:44concealer and all these things, yeah, I think that's where a lot of things go, the first
02:50step goes wrong.
02:51And are you a fan of contouring, and will we see contouring kids, because that's very
02:55in people, and it's probing, you know?
02:57Yeah, I love contour kids, I think you have the ability to do, you know, you feel like
03:02your cheeks are looking, you ate too many french fries the night before, you're looking
03:06a little puffy, or feeling puffy, contour kid's great for that, you're like, french
03:12fries, bye bye.
03:14Okay, we'll keep that in mind, and the, can you tell us about a trend that you absolutely
03:19hated and loved, in the recent times, like say, seven months perhaps?
03:24I think contour is one of those, where people overdo it, and people start to put in so much
03:32contour that their whole face starts looking distorted, I think that right now, something
03:40that I love, for most women, is highlighting, you know, having really beautiful skin, and
03:46having, you know, highlighting those things that are really amazing on your face.
03:50You might not need a lot of contouring, but for some reason, layering it on, I think that
03:57it's a fine balance of contour looking absolutely amazing, or contour just gone wrong.
04:02Yeah, like some reds, yeah.
04:04Yeah, this, you know, someone forgot to blend, blend, blend, blend!
04:09Every situation is different, and you have to know when to, you know, where you should
04:15walk in and be totally glammed and sparkly, and then another, where you should just look
04:20like you have beautiful skin, and you have great mascara on that just opens up your eyes,
04:27and you know, there's just so many different feelings that go with so many different types
04:32of makeup.
04:33It really just depends on what's going on in that woman's life that morning, um, so.
04:37The sun's written on your skin, isn't it?
04:39Yeah.
04:40Like, I'm not feeling so great, so I'm wearing red lipstick today, lots of mascara, a little
04:45bit of contour, highlight.
