00:00I think it can work in both ways. I think the height thing can give me added power,
00:12added levers to hit the ball a bit further. On the contrary, when it comes to longer form
00:17cricket it can give you some technical issues that you have to keep on top of throughout
00:21your career. When I was younger I used to open the bowling and bat six, so there was
00:27never really something I did as a child. It sort of happened when I was 18, 19 and then
00:31enjoyed it for the rest of my career. The whole package is special. Every time you come
00:39here you get looked after. Locals are friendly and they're getting more and more passionate
00:43about their cricket over here. The UAE as a team are also up and coming as well. I think
00:47we're going to see a lot more of them in the next few years. It's just great memories.
00:51Obviously when I made an ODI at 100 I was here. Just very, very fond memories and spent
00:55a lot of time here and hopefully more to come.
01:02When they picked me up I was delighted. I think I was one of the earlier picks in the
01:08draft and I was absolutely over the moon to be part of a new tournament. One that's got
01:14a really bright future. We can see already in its second season there's two new teams
01:18and it's doubled in length as well. I think the future is really bright for this T10 league.
01:26That's definitely one of the top three highlights of my career. Particularly as Sri Lanka went
01:33on to win the tournament and we needed to win that game to stay in. So to do it, to
01:37chase down 180 when I think we were none for two in the first over. To put a performance
01:42like that on was a day that I'll never forget.
01:49Very disappointed. I think I might be the only person to be dismissed on 99 in 50 overs
01:53in 2020. Not a great record to have but if someone offers you 99 at the start of the
01:58day you take it. But it was disappointing. One of them was at my home ground, Trent Bridge,
02:02against West Indies. To fall one run short was disappointing. But if someone offers you
02:0799 at the start of the day you probably take it.
02:14Very special. We were 1-0 down in the series heading into that game. It was a must-win
02:18game and I was batting at number four which is something I'd never done before in T20
02:22cricket. It was a bit of a new role but to get the team over the line and make it 1-0
02:26into the decider was a really special feeling.
02:31He's almost on a different planet at the moment. He's playing a different game. The way he's,
02:37even in the test matches in England on difficult batting pitches, he's made it look very easy
02:41and at the moment I'd say he's head and shoulders above anyone. He's at a different level, especially
02:46across all three formats, which is something that's really tough to do.
02:53We're on the right path definitely. Since 2015 we've played some really good cricket
02:57and I think at the moment we're ranked number one. I think it's probably as good a chance
03:00as we'll ever have in 50-over cricket but you can't write off teams like India. You
03:04probably can't write off any teams in the world actually. They'll be out to get us.
