00:00The line says,
00:01If we don't know anything else,
00:04we know how to love.
00:06We as Indians may know nothing at all,
00:09but we know what is love.
00:11We remain loyal, we remain steadfast.
00:13That obviously cannot be the case.
00:14If you know nothing at all,
00:15you will not learn love either.
00:17But somehow this thing has gone
00:19into the Indian psyche
00:21that lovers we all are.
00:23And love means having
00:26some kind of right over the other's life.
00:30Yes, of course, in love you do have a right
00:32over the other's life.
00:33But in what sense?
00:34That's a question lost to India.
00:36We don't address that question.
00:38West knows love of the personal kind
00:42and no other love.
00:43India was fortunate it came to know
00:46of a higher love.
00:47But it reduced that higher love
00:50to one of personal kind.
00:51Though I do not know
00:53which one is the worst tragedy.
00:55Indeed.
