00:00The UAE Met Office has said that although the UAE will not be directly hit by Cyclone
00:15Mekonu, the weather during the weekend will be impacted.
00:19The National Centre of Meteorology said the tropical storm was raised to a Cyclone Category
00:241 as of Wednesday night.
00:27The effects of the cyclone over the UAE will be a continuous mass of moist air with chances
00:32of sporadic rain over the eastern and southern regions.
00:36The death toll due to the deadly Nipah virus has gone up to 11 in Kerala, with one more
00:42person dying this morning.
00:44V. Moosa, 61, had been battling for life since the past few days in a private hospital in
00:50Coimbatore and was on ventilator support.
00:53This is the fourth death in Moosa's family.
00:56His two sons and a relative had died earlier.
00:59Of the 13 confirmed cases of Nipah in the district, 11 people have died so far.
01:05The estate of Michael Jackson is objecting to an ABC TV special on the end of King Pop's
01:11life.
01:12The estate called it a crass attempt to exploit Jackson without respect for his legacy or
01:18children and will most likely violate their intellectual property rights.
01:23But the network said the documentary was a legitimate work of journalism on a newsworthy
01:28subject.
01:29And finally, the weather.
01:30Today's high across the UAE will be 40 degrees Celsius, dropping to 28 degrees at night.
01:36That's all for now.
