00:00Good day. Welcome to the Gulf News update for Tuesday, February 20. Here are the top
00:07stories at this hour.
00:09In a series of unrelated stabbing cases, three men were killed and two others injured following
00:15three violent brawls during the week in Sharjah. Police said that in a fatal case on Friday,
00:21two brothers from Pakistan were stabbed to death following an altercation between a group
00:25of men.
00:27A hundred Stoneman Douglas High School students are bussing 400 miles to Florida's capital
00:32today. The rally is aimed at urging lawmakers to prevent a repeat of the massacre that killed
00:3817 students and faculty in the school last week. The students hope it will put pressure
00:44on the Republican-controlled legislature to consider a sweeping package of gun control
00:49laws.
00:51Sharjah's 25 billion dirhams waterfront city is starting to show up on the development
00:56radar. Infrastructure work on the 60 million square foot mixed-use destination in Humria
01:02has reached key milestones. Work on a 220 million dirhams substation that will provide
01:08700 megawatts of power has also started.
01:12Fergie is saying sorry after trying something different with the national anthem at the
01:16NBA All-Star game.
01:18I am a risk-taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn't strike the intended
01:23tone, the Grammy-winning singer said. Fergie's bluesy rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner
01:28on Sunday wasn't well-received before the 67th edition of the NBA's annual showcase.
01:35And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 24 degrees Celsius, dropping
01:40to 18 degrees at night.
01:42That's all for now. Thanks for watching. And as always, you can get the latest news on
