00:00The Wild Wadi Waterpark hosted a Dubai session for the world's largest swimming lesson, which
00:13is a worldwide initiative that teaches millions of children and adults how to swim.
00:17The yearly global event simultaneously took place in other aquatic facilities around the
00:21world and also aimed to break the Guinness World Record.
00:25This is an event that was brought to us by the World Waterpark Association and this is
00:28their sixth year having it.
00:30We join parks around the world, not only waterparks, but swimming pools and other aquatic facilities
00:35to talk about swimming safety and to teach kids about swimming.
00:38This year we have over 900 facilities that are assigned up to do this.
00:42They're happening in 43 different states and 24 different countries, so it really is an
00:46initiative that's worldwide and something that we take pride in and we'll do no matter
00:50what time of the year, whether it's really hot outside or Ramadan, we're going to make
00:54sure that we commit ourselves to teaching safety to our children.
00:57The 30-minute swimming lesson gathered around 100 students who braved the scorching heat
01:02to help set the world record.
01:04The kids here today range from age 7 to 11, and they're part of the demographic that we're
01:08really worried about making sure that they know about swimming safety when they're with
01:12their friends, when they're at their homes, so that we don't have any kind of issues in
01:16this region and around the world by driving this safety message.
01:21The swimming lessons were taught by qualified instructors.
