00:00Strong winds loaded with dust pounded most of the country early morning Thursday, causing
00:13reduced visibility in some areas.
00:16With speeds of 36 to 44 kilometers per hour, the winds are blowing into various parts of
00:21the country, carrying dust and sand particles.
00:25Over the UAE's islands, strong winds blow at 52 kilometers per hour.
00:31The National Center of Meteorology and Seismology, or NCMS, warned residents, especially motorists,
00:38of reduced visibility to less than 500 meters at times.
00:42NCMS has also issued a warning against heading out to sea as the Arabian Gulf will be rough
00:48to very rough, with wave height reaching up to 5 feet onshore and up to 12 feet offshore.
00:55The hazy condition is forecast to persist throughout the day, and over some parts on
00:59Friday.
01:00Residents with respiratory ailments have been advised to take precautions and stay indoors
01:05whenever possible.
01:06The huge sandstorm sweeping the UAE has also caused accidents on Dubai roads, while UAE
01:12airports are experiencing delays because of the sandstorm.
