Plans have been unveiled for the UK's first floating Padel tennis courts and clubhouse at Liverpool Waters. Widely considered as the fastest growing sport in the world, Padel is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis and squash and is typically played in doubles.

00:15Now Peel Waters wants to bring the UK's first ever floating courts and clubhouse to Liverpool
00:21Waters. The proposed facility will sit within Princess Dock at Liverpool Waters and will feature
00:27three floating courts. They would be built on a special floating platform from Finland,
00:32with the courts themselves manufactured in Spain. Documents have now been submitted to Liverpool
00:37Council's planning department. As part of the plans, players and spectators would be able to
00:43socialise in a clubhouse on the water. It would include a bar and kitchen with a decked seating
00:48area. A small specialist retail store would also be located within the clubhouse. A decision on
00:54the site is expected from the authorities planning committee by this spring with a view
00:58to open in the summer.
