00:00The campaign for the candidates for the Senate and party list for the 2025 midterm elections has already begun.

00:08But there are still those who are chasing to withdraw their candidature.

00:13Here are the details.

00:18Last 12 noon, Agri Party List Representative Wilbert Lee arrived at the office of the Commission on Elections in Manila.

00:26The statement of withdrawal was a bit-bit. Lee formally withdrew his candidature as a Senator in the 2025 elections.

00:33Lee said that there is no influence of politics in his withdrawal. This is a personal decision.

00:40It's painful inside, but this is what made me happy because I saw in my circle, in my talks that I really lacked time and my machinery.

00:55But the congressman was able to talk to his party, Aksyon Demokratiko, and they accepted his decision.

01:02For now, he has no plan to substitute for his party list as a nominee.

01:06He even made a joke that he is now behind his wife, who is his first nominee now.

01:12I will not run, I am not the nominee there.

01:17Yes, my ex-girlfriend. Actually, when she was sitting there for two minutes, I was the speaker of my house.

01:26The Commission on Elections said that even if Wilbert Lee withdrew, it has no effect on the preparation of COMELEC.

01:33Printing will not be stopped and if Lee is still able to get a vote in the election, it will be considered as a stray vote.

01:41There is no change in the list. We will not reprint the ballot if his name is still on the list and all the votes that will be given to him, if he withdraws, will be considered as stray votes.

01:55Meanwhile, because there are already many campaigns starting later at 12 p.m. for candidates in national positions,

02:03COMELEC can be reminded that the candidates are not only following the correct measurements and common poster areas,

02:09the materials of the posters should also be environment-friendly and will not cause a ton of waste on the road.

02:17We will be strict. We will not allow a ton of garbage to be collected by the MMDA or other local government units or security agencies.

02:27We will learn to be clean.

02:29COMELEC will also remind the candidates that there are still male posters.

02:34They are gay now, but they can be disqualified or be charged with one to six years in prison.

02:44The illegally posted posters, like the ones in public places, will be removed by tomorrow.

02:49At the same time, the plastic or environmentally unfriendly materials will not be removed.

03:01We will write to others to explain why they should not be charged with election offense and disqualification.

03:10Tomorrow, COMELEC will also start to remove illegal posters.

03:14COMELEC will issue a show-cause order to politicians who will be arrested for not following the Commission's guidelines.
