00:00Keep the same bad habits that we had in the leg, and then go back to it.
00:04Especially what it was on the line today.
00:07And every single person in this basketball program, the staff,
00:12the coaches, the players, everyone had an amazing basketball game going into
00:17the second half, and we just had to keep that energy, we had to keep that
00:21aggression, that hey, we have to pick ourselves back up in the fall.
00:27I appreciate this.
00:30Jackson, I'm sorry if you're gonna ask this already, but-
00:33Okay.
00:34Chase Richardson, you know, looks familiar.
00:36But seriously, important it wasn't for him, you know, for you guys today,
00:40for a freshman to have that type of moment.
00:42Obviously he's got a lot of personal connections, but just today, I guess.
00:45Yeah.
00:46What do you do for your guys?
00:49I've sat here, I think, for about three minutes, and I'm still speechless.
00:54He...
00:55I was just so happy I got to be on the court with him, honestly.
00:58I mean, just to see him go to work.
01:00Man, there are some times that happen to basketball players,
01:05where you're on the same team, and you just see them go to work,
01:09and they're in their zone, and you just want to just watch it happen.
01:14You want the best seat in the house on the court, and just watch them go to work.
01:19And when he was just getting bucket after bucket after bucket,
01:21not only in the second half, but in the first half,
01:23you're just like, man, this is special.
01:26Chase Richardson, he's a special player, man.
01:30And watching him go to work, it was just like, I don't even know what to say.
01:35It was just incredible.
01:36And honestly, I hope he, you know, he realizes how, you know,
01:42how much we mean to him in this game.
01:45And I hope he really takes time to enjoy what he did.
01:48And also, at the same time, you know, just to keep working,
01:50because, you know, we're going to need him in these next couple games,
01:54because it's going to be a hard schedule.
01:56But today, I couldn't help but just love to enjoy watching it.
02:02And there was one move he had at the top of the key.
02:04And actually, there was a whole bunch of moves,
02:06but it was the one move at the time that gave me the hesitation to go in
02:09and finish the two guys.
02:10And I remember, I was like, I don't need to go to the rebound.
02:12But when it happened, I ran back with my two hands on my head,
02:15being like, what the hell?
02:16That was the one down by your bench?
02:18Yeah.
02:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
02:20Because in the first half, he was just knocking down shots.
02:22And I was just like, man, we really needed that.
02:24And then the second half, he just put some incredible moves on.
02:27I'm just like, wow.
02:31And, yes, I even needed to put my hands on my head,
02:34because I didn't even know what just happened.
02:37He just made it look so easy.
02:38And honestly, as a freshman, you know, like that's something really special.
02:42And I hope he really enjoys his career.
02:45I hope he enjoys his career,
02:46because today was a really special day, and he deserves all the credit.
02:49And, you know, we're going to need him to keep working,
02:52because we're going to need him in these next coming games.
02:54Two more.
02:55Do you have to remind yourself that he's a freshman sometimes?
02:59Yes.
03:01He certainly doesn't play like a frontrunner.
03:04I was about to say, he don't play like a frontrunner.
03:06He don't play like a frontrunner.
03:07Sometimes off the court, we'll tease him like a frontrunner,
03:09because he's a freshman.
03:10But today, he did not play like a frontrunner.
03:12He played like a man today.
03:13And, yeah, no, he flied out.
03:18He just played like a man today.
03:20I was just talking to Coop about it.
03:22What do you think changed at halftime in terms of rebound,
03:25besides the fact that they, you know, started missing finally from D?
03:30Yeah, no, obviously at halftime, it was a really big self-reflection moment.
03:36You know, kind of self-evaluate, just like, you know, what, you know,
03:39we kind of realized that we weren't doing, you know,
03:41a great job on the boards, and that was something that Coach, you know,
03:44was very verbal about, you know, like, hey, we need to get more on the boards
03:47and we need to be more active,
03:49and they can't have too many more offensive rebounds.
03:52And it was the players that kind of, you know, told each other that, too,
03:58and that kind of ignited a spark, you know,
04:00because we couldn't have a forced lose game.
04:02Like, at halftime, we also realized, like, we can't lose at home,
04:08because before we went to L.A., you know, we were on a roll,
04:12and unfortunately what happened in L.A. happened in L.A.,
04:14but we can't bring that L.A. play back home to the Breslin.
04:20And so that was our kind of our snap out of it moment,
04:24and I'm really happy with the people who responded.
04:27Thanks, guys.
