00:00Alison Holker is detailing her financial situation following her late husband Stephen Twitchboss'
00:06death.
00:07In her new memoir, This Far, My Story of Love, Loss, and Embracing the Light, the Widow of
00:12the Ellen DeGeneres Show star details the financial mess she says her late husband left
00:17her with after he died by suicide in December 2022 at age 40.
00:23Alison writes in the memoir, released on February 4th, quote,
00:27It's a misconception that I inherited Stephen's wealth.
00:30The reality is quite different.
00:32He had given away substantial sums of money to family and friends, and spent recklessly
00:37on drugs and his weird art collections.
00:41The tax bill that he left me with for the year he died was $1 million.
00:46The 36-year-old, who said Stephen did not have a will at the time of his death, adds
00:50that she and her husband had always maintained separate bank accounts during their nine-year
00:55marriage, and paying off his tax-owings depleted his accounts.
01:01And Alison, who shared kids Wesley, Maddox, and Ziya with Stephen, admits that she's still
01:06in the trenches financially, adding, quote,
01:10If he had known how much of our hard-earned money would go to pay lawyers' fees to clean
01:15up the mess he left me with, would it have made any difference?
01:19She continues,
01:20I'd like to believe it would have.
01:23Stephen left me with double the work, double the noise, double the hardships, double the
01:27confusion, and half the household earnings.
01:31Alison previously defended her decision to write the book after coming under fire from
01:35members of Stephen's inner circle, including his brother and mother.
01:40At the time, Alison writes in an Instagram story in January, quote,
01:45I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story
01:50as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people.
01:54If you decide to read the book, hopefully you'll see my intention is to celebrate the
01:59love and life I shared with Stephen and our three beautiful children.
