00:00In trail running, the Philippine Trail Running Association of PILTRA announced the local and international trail running events to be held this year.

00:09Aside from this, PILTRA also plans to discover new athletes who will join the national team.

00:15The details of this news are in the report of my teammate Bernadette Hinoy.

00:20The Philippine Trail Running Association of PILTRA confirmed that the campaign of the national team will be considered successful last year.

00:29A few medals were also given by the Philippines to the country to participate in the international trail competitions.

00:49Five gold, eight silver, and four bronze.

00:53Come October, this is the Asia-Pacific Trail Running Championship in South Korea.

01:00We won one gold medal, so we brought home one gold medal.

01:07And all our athletes are in the top ten.

01:12So given that, we were second overall.

01:16That's why in 2025, PILTRA Secretary General Tin Terrera said,

01:21qualifying races are also lined up in the country to determine who will be included in the national pool team this year.

01:27The agency also released the trail running events this February,

01:31such as the famous Trail Marathon 2025 from February 8 to 9 in San Remigio, Antiqua.

01:37On the same day, another trail event, the Luntian Trail Marathon 2025, will also be held,

01:43where the tournament will be held in Barangay Perez, Kidapawan City.

01:47On February 23, the 7th edition of the Mount Sembrano Mountain Run 2025 will begin,

01:53which will be held in Pililiya, Rizal.

01:55And the long-awaited National Championships will be held this March,

01:59which will serve as the selection process of PILTRA for the members of the Philippine team.

02:04The National Championships will be in Danau City, Cebu.

02:10It's going to be this coming March.

02:14So those who qualified, members of the national team,

02:18and those who have earned points from the different competitions that was held around the Philippines.

02:26So there were eight events that happened during the year.

02:31So these are the qualifying races, Luzon-Visayas-Mindanao,

02:35both for the senior athletes and for the under-20 and under-23 youths.

02:44According to Sherrera, they are fully prepared for the upcoming World Championships that will be held in Spain.

02:52It's going to be this September in Spain.

02:55So perfect timing.

02:57So after March, they are fully prepared for that event.
