00:00Do you expect Facebook, the hostages, to go forward?
00:04I'll talk to you later.
00:05Mr. President, you managed to get this deal done.
00:07Some say — a lot of people say that the men who managed to do that should get a Nobel Peace Prize.
00:11Do you think that you'll be able to get all the hostages back home?
00:14And what will happen if you hear from the Israelis?
00:16They will never give me a Nobel Peace Prize.
00:19What needs to happen for normalization?
00:22I deserve it, but they will never give it to me.
00:25What needs to happen for normalization to go forward?
00:28What needs to happen for normalization in Saudi Arabia?
00:31Well, we're going to see.
00:32And we're dealing with a lot of people.
00:34And we have steps to go yet, as you know.
00:37And maybe those steps go forward, and maybe they don't.
00:40We're dealing with a very complex group of people — situation and people.
00:45But we have the right man.
00:46We have the right leader of Israel.
00:48He's done a great job.
00:50And we've been friends for a long time.
00:52We do a great job also.
00:55And I think we have a combination that's very unbeatable, actually.
01:19We'll see what happens.
01:20Whatever happens, we'll be prepared to handle the situation.
01:25Are the Saudis demanding a Palestinian state?
01:28Are the Saudis demanding a Palestinian state?
01:30No, they're not.
01:31Are they demanding a path towards a Palestinian state or any other recognition of that course?
01:35Everybody's demanding one thing.
01:37You know what it is?
01:38Peace.
01:39We want peace.
01:40We want people to stop being killed.
01:42Everybody's demanding one thing.
01:44A simple peace.
01:46And he wants peace also.
01:47Mr. President, do you think it's politically possible in Israel to get this deal done until the end?
01:53To get the deal done?
01:54Yeah.
01:55Sure.
01:56Why wouldn't a deal get done?
01:57A deal can get done.
01:58We'll see what happens.
01:59We're dealing with very complicated people.
02:02But a deal can absolutely get done.
02:10We'll see what happens.
02:11President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, we've heard Joe Biden and Donald Trump take credit for the hostage and ceasefire deal.
02:22Who do you think deserves more credit?
02:25I think President Trump added great force and powerful leadership to this effort.
02:33I appreciate it.
02:35He sent a very good emissary.
02:38He's helped it along.
02:40And, you know, I'll just tell you, I'm happy that they're here.
02:44And I'm sure the President is happy that they're here.
02:47And I would think that's about enough.
02:49Mr. President, Prime Minister, what about Elizabeth Zucco, the Israeli hostage held in Iraq?
02:53What about the Israeli press taking the press conference in Israel, not in Washington?
02:57We would love to take a press conference in Washington.
02:59We would love to take a press conference in Washington.
03:02Prime Minister Netanyahu, do you support going forward with this deal and getting all the hostages out?
03:09I support getting all the hostages out and meeting all our war goals.
03:15That includes destroying Hamas's military and governing capabilities
03:19and making sure that Gaza never poses a threat to Israel again.
03:23Are you willing to agree?
03:24All three.
03:25Are you willing to agree?
03:26Are you willing to go together?
03:27Are you willing to agree with Trump's vision to get all the hostages out?
03:31I think that I should talk to President Trump.
03:34I'll ask.
03:35Do you agree with Trump's vision of getting all the hostages back home, even if it means to end the war?
03:41Well, I'm not sure that you articulated correctly what the President's vision is.
03:47You can ask.
03:48He can speak for himself.
03:49He does that very, very well.
03:51I have my own views.
03:53Three goals.
03:54Not one.
03:55Not two.
03:56Three goals.
03:57And I will meet all three goals.
03:59I think the President can help enormously.
04:01He brings fresh thinking.
04:03Any address to the fact that terrorists who murdered hundreds of people were listed at home as part of the deal?
04:10It's a horrible thing.
04:11We can't forget it.
04:13I'll never forget it.
04:14You can't forget it.
04:15And some people want to put it out of their memory, but we're not going to ever let that happen.
04:20It was a horrible day.
04:22October 7th.
04:23It was a horrible period of time.
04:26And a lot of people like to pretend it didn't happen.
04:30It happened.
04:31It's a big group of people that like to pretend it didn't happen, like the Holocaust didn't happen.
04:35Same mindset.
04:38And now we're going to get this thing wrapped up and we're going to get it done.
04:42We're also dealing, I think, very successfully with Russia-Ukraine.
04:46We can hopefully get that one done at some point in the not-too-distant future.
04:50That's a complex problem also.
04:53But we solve problems.
04:55You know, when I left, we had no problem.
04:57There was no Ukraine and Russia fighting.
04:59There was no October 7th.
05:01There was nothing.
05:03Some very poor leadership led to a lot of problems and a lot of death.
05:07And it's a shame, but we'll put it out.
05:09We'll put out the fires.
05:10We have a lot of fires, but we'll put them out.
05:22Well, a lot of plans change with time, and a lot of death has occurred since I left and now came back.
05:29This death occurred not while I was here, but while somebody else was here.
05:33It shouldn't have happened.
05:34They shouldn't have allowed it to happen.
05:36It would have never happened, and that includes Russia-Ukraine would have never happened.
05:40Not even a little bit, not even a chance.
05:43But now we are faced with a situation that's different, in some ways better, and in some ways worse.
05:49But we're faced with a very complex and difficult situation, but we'll solve the problem.
06:00If not Jordan, Egypt, what other countries you think might accept Palestinians from Gaza?
06:05Well, I think Jordan and Egypt will.
06:07I know they've spoken about it with you, and they say they're not going to accept.
06:11I say they will.
06:13But I think other countries will accept also.
06:15I think that Gaza maybe is a demolition site right now.
06:19If you look at Gaza, it's all – I mean, it's hardly a building standing.
06:23And the ones that are are going to collapse.
06:25You can't live in Gaza right now.
06:27And I think we need another location.
06:29I think it should be a location that's going to make people happy.
06:32You look over the decades, it's all death in Gaza.
06:37This has been happening for years. It's all death.
06:40If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people permanently in nice homes
06:45where they can be happy and not be shot, not be killed, not be knifed to death like what's happening in Gaza.
06:52And right now you have in Gaza a very dangerous situation in terms of explosives all over the place,
06:57in terms of tunnels that nobody knows who's in the tunnel.
07:01The whole thing is a mess.
07:03And I think that if we can resettle – and I believe we can do it in areas where the leaders currently say no.
07:10I mean, I've been saying that with Mexico having to do with the border and all of the things.
07:16And you saw what happened – 10,000 soldiers, and they're going to do a good job.
07:20I really believe that, and I believe Canada is going to do a good job also.
07:23They said the same thing, and then they did something much different than what you were hearing.
07:28This is a very, very difficult situation, but we're going to get it solved.
07:34I don't think people should be going back to Gaza.
07:36I think that Gaza has been very unlucky for them.
07:40They've lived like hell. They lived like you're living in hell.
07:43Gaza is not a place for people to be living.
07:46And the only reason they want to go back – and I believe this strongly – is because they have no alternative.
07:50What's the alternative? Go where?
07:52There's no other alternative.
07:53If they had an alternative, they'd much rather not go back to Gaza
07:57and live in a beautiful alternative that's safe.
08:01Mr. President, when you get to the scene of the bombings,
08:04would Palestinians have the right to return to Gaza if they left while the rebuilding was happening?
08:14It would be my hope that we could do something really nice, really good, where they wouldn't want to return.
08:20Why would they want to return? The place has been hell.
08:23It's been one of the meanest, toughest places on earth.
08:29And right now it's – I've seen every picture from every angle.
08:34Better than if I were there.
08:36And nobody can live there. You can't live there.
08:39So if we can build them through massive amounts of money supplied by other people,
08:45very rich nations, and they're willing to supply it.
08:50If we can build something for them in one of the countries –
08:53and it could be Jordan and it could be Egypt, it could be other countries –
08:56and you can build four or five or six areas.
08:59It doesn't have to be one area.
09:01But you take certain areas and you build really good-quality housing, like a beautiful town,
09:08like someplace where they can live and not die.
09:11Because Gaza is a guarantee that they're going to end up dying.
09:14The same thing is going to happen again.
09:16It's happened over and over again.
09:19And it's going to happen again as sure as you're standing there, Peter.
09:22So I hope that we can do something where they wouldn't want to go back.
09:27Who would want to go back?
09:29They've experienced nothing but death and destruction.
09:32What will you do then?
09:40Well, I don't think they're going to tell me no.
09:42I don't think they're going to tell me no.
09:45I think they're going to tell Biden no, and I think they're going to tell other people no.
09:49Do you think it will happen at the end?
09:51I think there's a good chance, yeah.
09:52How many people are you thinking about?
09:55All of them.
09:56I mean, we're talking about probably a million-seven people, a million-seven, maybe a million-eight.
10:01But I think all of them.
10:02I think they'll be resettled in areas where they can live a beautiful life
10:05and not be worried about dying every day.
10:15Mr. President, do you support building settlements back in Gaza in the next years?
10:21Say it.
10:22Building settlements back in Gaza.
10:24Do you support this idea?
10:26I don't see it happening.
10:27It's too dangerous for people.
10:29Nobody can go there.
10:30It's too dangerous.
10:31Nobody wants to be there.
10:32Warriors don't want to be there.
10:34Soldiers don't want to be there.
10:36How can you have people go back?
10:37You're saying go back into Gaza now?
10:39The same thing is going to happen.
10:41It will only be death.
10:42The best way to do it is you go out and you get beautiful, open areas where there's sunlight coming through
10:49and you build something nice.
10:51They are not going to want to go back to Gaza.
10:55Prime Minister Netanyahu, what is your message to the families of the hostages
10:58that look at this deal, they're worried that this deal isn't going through?
11:02What do you say to them at this moment?
11:03Same message I said from the beginning of the war.
11:06Get them out.
11:07Get them back.
11:08We got over 70%, close to 75% of the people who everybody believed will not get out.
11:14We got them in successive deals.
11:16And most recently, with the help of President Trump, we're not going to give up on any of them
11:20and we're not going to give up on our other war aims.
11:23Hamas is not going to be in Gaza and we're going to get everyone back.
11:27How optimistic are you about reaching phase two of the ceasefire?
11:33How optimistic are you about that happening?
11:35Well, we're going to try.
11:36That's one of the reasons.
11:37One of the things we're going to talk about here.
11:39And if we, you know, when Israel and the United States work together
11:44and President Trump and I work together, you know, the chances go up a lot.
11:50When we don't work together, Israel and the United States don't work together,
11:55that creates problems.
11:56When the other side sees daylight between us and occasionally in the last few years,
12:01to put it mildly, they saw daylight.
12:04Then it's more difficult.
12:06When we cooperate, chances are good.
12:10Say it.
12:17So you say Iran is so weak.
12:19I appreciate you saying that.
12:21They're not weak.
12:22They're very strong right now and we're not going to allow them to have a nuclear weapon.
12:26It's very simple.
12:27You know, I signed a very strong proclamation.
12:30Iran was in big trouble when I left.
12:33They were broke.
12:34They didn't have money for Hamas.
12:36They didn't have any money for Hezbollah.
12:38You had no problem.
12:40October 7th could have never happened.
12:42When I left, October 7th could have never happened.
12:45And, frankly, Russia and Ukraine, as I said, could never have happened.
12:49They became very strong very fast.
12:51They sold massive amounts of oil to China and everybody else
12:54who would not buy the oil when I was president because we said don't buy the oil.
12:59And they became very rich very quickly.
13:02They're not weak.
13:03They're not weak.
13:04They're strong.
13:05It doesn't mean they won't be weak.
13:07But you know what?
13:08We just don't want them to have a nuclear weapon.
13:10They can't have a nuclear weapon.
13:17You don't know what he wants.
13:19What do you know about anything?
13:28No.
13:29Could be other places too.
13:31There are many people that have reached out, many countries, many leaders of countries
13:34that have reached out that would like to participate in that.
13:37It doesn't have to be Jordan and Egypt, but I think it would be also them.
13:49No, I think it's mostly us.
13:51Mr. President.
13:56What?
14:00Well, it's had a pretty hard time, wouldn't you say?
14:03I'd say it's had a pretty bad time of it.
14:13I think they're trying to help.
14:15Qatar is absolutely trying to help.
14:18I know them very well, and they're doing everything they can.
14:21Very tough situation, but they're absolutely trying to help.
14:24Okay.
14:25Thank you very much, everybody.
