00:39That's what Marbil said after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended his term as Chief of National Police.
00:46According to Police Regional Office 3 and PNP Spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo,
00:51the PNP continues to prepare the police for the proper security that will be implemented in Halalan.
00:57The PNP's campaign against loose firearms, private armed groups and criminal gangs continues so that the trusted politicians will not use them.
01:06One of the main considerations why the service of our Chief PNP has been extended for at least four months is to make sure that
01:16the security preparation for the election will not be affected by a sudden change of leadership.
01:30Aside from ensuring a proper Halalan, Marbil will also make use of crime prevention and community engagement to maintain peace and order in the country.
01:38The Chief of National Police will also not neglect disciplining the police and cleaning up their mess.
01:45Brigadier General Fajardo denied that the four-month extension of the PNP Chief has a major effect on the promotion of high-ranking officials.
01:53In fact, the people and officials of the National Police are still supportive of Marbil's extension of his term.
02:00We have programs, especially in the organizational structure that our Chief PNP wants to implement.
02:09So even though it is four months, we expect that the programs that he has laid out will continue.
02:17That includes, of course, the continuous strengthening of our internal disciplinary mechanism to make sure that the remaining members of the Philippine National Police are in the hands of the police.
02:32Marbil, the 30th PNP Chief, is a member of the Philippine Military Academy's Ambisig Class of 1991.
02:39He took office in April after the retirement of the former PNP Chief, Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr.
