00:00I'm at the top of the Prince Charles Way and this is one of the roundabouts in
00:04this area that is quite unsafe for pedestrians and crossing. The reason why
00:08I'm here is because there's a local primary school just across there, Ashgrove
00:11Primary School, and parents and the school council reached out to me because
00:15kids and parents that come from this direction and the Carmoney direction do
00:19not have any safe way of crossing this roundabout. I contacted DFA, as did the
00:24school council, and we had them come out and actually look at this to see if there was a safe way for kids to cross
00:29here, whether it's a zebra crossing or something else, but they've come back and
00:33they've said it's not possible. It's not possible because it will disrupt the
00:36traffic flow. Why should we wait for an accident to happen when we can prevent
00:41any accident? How many near misses have there been? So if you want to see this
00:45change and make sure that our roads are safer for our children, then sign my
00:49petition to ensure that we can get a safe crossing for everyone in the
00:52community.
