Fifty years after the original terror, Amity Island has turned its dark past into a booming tourist attraction—shark museums, boat tours, and the Great White Beach Festival draw crowds from around the world. But when a young woman is killed in the water, the town’s mayor (John Goodman) downplays the incident to protect business, insisting the legend is just that—a legend.
Local officer Luke Brody (Adam Driver), grandson of Chief Martin Brody, is ordered to quietly investigate, but when the evidence points to something massive lurking offshore, he’s forced to act. Joining him is Charlotte Cooper (Scarlett Johansson), the victim’s sister, who refuses to let the town bury another tragedy. Alongside Tom Hendricks (Willem Dafoe), a grizzled fisherman who has made a living off fake shark hunts, they set out to track the predator.
But what they find is no myth—it’s bigger, faster, and smarter than they ever imagined. As the hunt turns into a fight for survival, the real threat isn’t just in the water—it’s human greed, denial, and the cost of ignoring the past.
