Fred Warner, 46, was stunned to spot the first car he ever drove, a Citroen 2cv Charleston, at a vintage car show in Loughborough, 25 years after his mother sold it.
The car, which Fred’s father bought in 1983 for £4K, is now worth over £10,000 and was being showcased by its current owner.
Fred instantly recognized the car by its license plate and was able to sit in it once more, feeling a mix of nostalgia and surprise.
He was pleased to see it well cared for, though he didn’t feel the need to buy it back.
