00:00According to the news, in order to lower the price of rice in the markets,
00:04Agriculture Secretary Francisco Chu Laurel Jr. has declared the food security emergency.
00:11This means that the National Food Authority will allow the sale of cheap rice
00:17to the offices of the President and the local government that will sell it to the consumers.
00:23According to the NFA, they are increasing the supply of NFA rice in Metro Manila
00:28in order to reduce the supply of NCR rice.
00:31Chu Laurel Jr. said that it is possible to reduce the price of rice from P3 to P5 per kilo.
00:40The NFA's warehouses will also help to expand and provide ways for new rice to enter the harvest season.
00:51The NFA has 700,000 sacks of rice this February.
00:56It is expected that non-regular or old stocks will need to be removed.
