00:00Hello and welcome to this special report on One India News.
00:19My name is Arushi Ranjan and today I am standing outside Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
00:24You can see a huge queue of people going inside.
00:28What brings people from different walks of life to this place today afternoon?
00:32Well, it is New Delhi World Book Fair 2025.
00:37This event offers a launch to book lovers, to bibliophiles we can say, to literature
00:42lovers and many cultural aspects of our own country.
00:46Talking about our country, this year's theme is Republic at 75.
00:50Clearly implies that it is celebrating our 75 years long journey of independence in this
00:58event.
00:59Now, we are going inside.
01:00One India is going to cover all the parts which this event has to offer.
01:06This 9 days of event, New Delhi World Book Fair 2025 is officially inaugurated by our
01:13Honorable President Draupadi Murmu.
01:17Apart from reading the books prescribed as part of the syllabus, school children should
01:23read different kinds of books on diverse subjects.
01:28This will help them discover their potential and capabilities.
01:33This will also help them become good human beings.
01:38I am happy to know that in this book fair, several activities promoting children's
01:43literature and reading habit are being organized.
01:48Promoting the habit of reading among our children should be done in a concerted and
01:54consistent manner by leaders, elders, teachers, writers, publishers, voluntary organizations,
02:02social workers, media groups and everyone who can contribute to this cause.
02:08When you make a child enjoy reading, you contribute a nation building.
02:16This year, the fair also takes a global turn with a special focus on the rich literary
02:22and cultural heritage of Russia, showcased through cultural exhibits under Russei Kitabe.
02:31It's a unique opportunity to explore international narratives and forge cross-cultural connections.
02:41Networking and collaboration are at the heart of NDWBF 2025.
02:49With dedicated spaces for publishers, authors and illustrators, as well as platforms like
02:56the B2B Zone and the Rights Exchange Forum, the fair serves as a dynamic hub for the global
03:04publishing community.
03:07During the World Book Fair, we have launched more than 30 new books, such as a series on
03:12biography, Young Readers for Young Children, Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Manga Coloring
03:20Book, which is very popular among young children, and 21 other coloring books, such as anime.
03:25Which is your favorite genre of book?
03:28My favorite genre is fantasy.
03:30Fantasy.
03:31Okay, and what is your favorite genre, ma'am?
03:33I'm a transport planner, so I will be looking for some transport planning related, some
03:38good cities, some better town planning, some transportation modeling.
03:42As a personal take, I'm into a lot of manga, and that's not very easily accessible all
03:46around the place.
03:47But I'm expecting here to be a good collection and probably I'll just go through them.
03:51Can you explain to our viewers a little bit more about manga?
03:56So manga is basically something that is originated in East Asia, probably most commonly in Japan.
04:01The authors are called mangakars, and it's an art panel in which they, through medium
04:06of art and dialogues, they convey a very good story.
04:10As India celebrates 75 years of its republic, the New Delhi World Book Fair stands as a
04:18testament to our enduring love for literature, diversity, and dialogue.
04:26Don't miss out.
