00:00Today we're looking around the Walkie Talkie, one of London's most unique and futuristic
00:05skyscrapers. Completed in 2014, its distinctive bulging shape makes it a standout feature of the
00:10city's skyline. Designed by architect Raphael Vignoli, the building rises to 160 metres and
00:16has 34 floors. What's fascinating about this building is its glass façade, which reflects
00:21the surrounding cityscape, giving it a constantly changing look depending on the time of day.
00:25One of its most surprising features is the Sky Garden, a public space located at the top of
00:30the building offering panoramic views of London free of charge. In fact, the Walkie Talkie became
00:35famous for causing an unusual problem in 2013, when sunlight reflecting off its curved glass
00:39panels created intensity that was reported to melt parts of nearby cars. The issue was quickly
00:44rectified with additional shading. The nearest tube station is Monument, which is on the District
00:49and Circle Lines.
