FALLING in love online isn’t for everyone, but for 82-year-old Iris Mohamady and her husband Mohamed, 36, it was the perfect match - even though they shared a 46 year age difference. After meeting and exchanging messages on social media it wasn’t long before Iris was jetting off to meet her beloved in Egypt where they spent time together meeting Mohamed’s family. Fast forward a few years and the pair are married and living together enjoying their happily ever after. However when they announced their relationship to the world, they faced a lot of negativity from people online. Iris said: “Now Mohamed's in the UK, life is easier because I don't have the stress of him not being here. He's there for me constantly, 24/7, and the love just grows. I don't think I could love him any more than I do right now. If any couples come to us or even ask questions online as they have done, and they are in an age gap relationship and want me to give them some advice, I would just say go with your heart.”

00:00This is 36-year-old Mohamed, and he fell in love with
00:0882-year-old Iris
00:12Before I met Mohamed, life was pretty dull
00:19We love each other, our love is growing day by day
00:23And whilst many people don't agree with their 46-year age gap, my youngest son
00:28He said, you know, it might be a scammer. I said, it's no scammer. I can spot a scammer
00:34Iris and Mohamed are determined to prove that their love is real. Age is nothing. It's just a number
00:43Mohamed, where's my tea, please?
00:46I'll try to get it. Oh, no, your tea and your cake, and my tea. Thank you. Thank you, love.
00:54Hello, everybody
00:56Before I met Mohamed, life was pretty dull. Usual everyday things, go shopping, go walking, meet friends
01:05Pretty humdrum, really
01:07That was it
01:10Look at that, you haven't changed from that image
01:13I wasn't looking at all. My son gave me a laptop and it opened the world for me
01:18I do like talking and chatting to people from all over the world, and that's how I met
01:25My wonderful husband. We met on
01:29Facebook, June the 25th
01:332019 and I've got it in my diary
01:36Entry, new contact from Egypt
01:39Mohamed messaged me and
01:42told him I like archeology and it was my dream to see the pyramids and
01:48He suggested I go there. Well, Mohamed started mentioning marriage within weeks
01:54You know, chatting on Facebook
01:57How can you talk about marriage with someone you've never ever met?
02:02And I suggested we leave the subject of marriage until we actually met
02:08The first true meeting was in Cairo Airport. Cairo Airport, yeah
02:13When I found the address, I found chemistry like each other. That's all because
02:19Insight is important more than our sight, you know
02:24Oh
02:29Let me put my makeup on
02:33Put my face on. Mohamed and I usually go on romantic dates
02:40Walk in the park, walk along the seafront, you know
02:48You don't necessarily have to spend money to enjoy one end of this company
02:52Oh, you smell delicious. Thank you. I could eat you. Thank you
03:00Ready to paint the town red. Okay. The knees are not what they used to be, but I've no aches and pains
03:09That's the longest I've ever done it.
03:12I'm pretty fit for my age. I need to be to keep this gentleman supplied
03:23She's also a good wife. She's clean, but she's fussy. What do you call a good-looking woman?
03:29She's cooking for us. We help each other
03:34We have a gap between our age. It's 46 years
03:41It did bother me because of being so much older
03:45It turned out that Mohamed was younger than my sons and I was older than the rest of his family
03:53Put together, you know, but it wasn't a concern of his. He said doesn't matter what matters is
04:01the love we share
04:05When I started to tell the family about my relationship
04:09The reaction was not very good. I did lie at first and said he was 40
04:15But my youngest son found out and he said he's not 46 when he's only 35
04:20You know, you're really serious about this bloke and I said yes
04:25But you don't want squid. What squid? Calamari. It's like, well, I can't explain. It's horrible
04:31You won't like it anyway. I don't think you'll like it. But you like mussels?
04:36My son, he said, you know, it might be a scammer. I said there's no scammer. I can spot a scammer
04:42Mussels, shellfish
04:45Yeah, right. Is white?
04:47Finger white? Not white. No, mussels are
04:51Do you want steak? Do you want a fillet steak? No?
04:55But all my friends, they were all for it. Jealous, some people are jealous. Yeah, but my sons were, you know, naturally
05:02wary
05:03Mohamed wants risotto, Demar. No squid. What do you mean squid?
05:07Calamari. Calamari.
05:09I told you octopus.
05:11Octopus. When you meet my family. Yeah. What you feeling in Egypt?
05:16Wonderful. Mother and father welcomed me with open arms. Three, four times. As did his sisters, you know, they could see we had true love
05:24Yes, they want me happy
05:26Oh, lovely
05:28What's this? The risotto
05:30Yeah, risotto. What is prawns?
05:32Prawns. Prawns are these little ones here
05:34Yes, thank you
05:36It's nice to eat out and it saves me cooking at home
05:38To change, you know
05:40Change our routine
05:46I'm not going to eat much more of this
05:48Really?
05:50I'm afraid
05:52It's going in here
05:56Hey, that is not on camera
05:58It doesn't matter
06:00I'm bloody paying for it, it doesn't matter
06:10Thank you
06:12Bye
06:24It's practically impossible for an eastern man to come to Britain on whatever visa and get married over here
06:30It doesn't happen
06:32I had to go over there
06:34We went to the British Embassy in Cairo
06:36I went there three times
06:38And on the third time
06:40I was able to get married
06:42I stayed there for three months
06:44It took ages
06:46Well, what I'd like people to know about age gap relationships
06:48Going by our example is
06:54It does work, it can work
06:56Maybe it can't, you know
06:58But in our case, it's genuine
07:00And it can work
07:02We love each other, our love is growing day by day
07:08Thank you
07:14We have two trans kids
07:16Anyone can be whoever they want
07:18I'm just owning it
07:20Our family is seen to be very unconventional
07:24So I had kids and I can't be hot anymore
07:26Like, moms are hot too
07:28People say I look like a thug, but I love thugs
07:30I take that as a compliment
07:32I'm bored of people thinking that I cannot be intimate
07:36I'm a young, single, hot piece of disabled booty
07:40I feel like I'm going to look at myself and be like
07:42Who is that?
07:48Life is way too short to be hiding
07:50It is my story, it is my truth
08:06It is my story, it is my truth
