00:18from the program and 10.5 million euros collected between follow-on and external investors.
00:23These numbers recount the success of the first three years of TerraNext, today a consolidated
00:27start-up and a reference point for innovation in the bioeconomy sector.
00:57The start-ups, a very important fact, are 48% from the south and 22% from Campania.
01:11Launched in 2022 in the area of the national network of CDP Venture Capital accelerators,
01:15the project was developed in collaboration with Intesa San Paolo Innovation Center and
01:20Cariplo Factory, which takes care of the management.
01:23Its goal is to support and accelerate the best entrepreneurial ideas capable of transforming
01:28the bioeconomy into a sustainable and competitive development engine.
01:32Through the TerraNext program, we have accompanied more than 22 start-ups to collect their first
01:38capital and several of these have already collected additional capital for a total of 3.4 million
01:44euros invested by us and another 5 million euros invested by other private investors
01:49within the same start-ups.
01:51And so we have generated the assumptions so that this innovation can go on the market
01:55and can continue to develop and grow.
01:58In particular, 40% of these start-ups are midday start-ups.
02:02For us, therefore, this result is particularly important and shows the desire to connect
02:08acceleration programs with the local ecosystem, with territorial partners, with local companies
02:13to promote innovation and growth not only of start-ups but also of our partners.
02:18We have an innovation hub in this office for 8 years now and therefore we are the natural
02:24reference point for start-ups and Southern SMEs for everything related to innovation.
02:29Then, of course, we do it in collaboration with all certified incubators, we do it with
02:35accelerators such as those of TerraNext today.
02:37We do it above all by providing the large network of SMEs that we follow daily in their
02:45activities to do the most natural job of a bank, that of connecting those who ask for
02:50innovation with those who are offered innovation.
02:52The biotech sector is a strategic pillar for the Italian economy.
02:56In 2023, Comparto recorded a 2.2% growth compared to the previous year, reaching a
03:03total value of 437.5 billion euros, employing about 2 million people.
03:08This data emerged during the Demo Day, the final event of TerraNext's third edition,
03:13which saw the comparison between specialized investors, start-ups and sector associations.
03:18A moment of synthesis and vision on the future of the bioeconomy, where innovation and
03:22sustainability intertwine to design new scenarios of growth and development.
