A British man has told how he accidentally ended up adopting a colony of 20 stray Spanish cats.
Sam Kinnear, 34, moved to the Spanish island of Mallorca last October with his wife's cat, Bunny.
On the day of their arrival in the town of Pollensa, Sam found himself quickly responsible for more felines than he'd initially planned for.
Noticing two cats looking right "at home" in his back garden, Sam curiously followed their trail and stumbled upon 15 strays looking down at him from a wall.
He decided to feed them - but before he knew it, he was their "cat mum", and after he helped Cat Protection Pollensa trap and neuter them, the cats were returned and are now officially part of the family.

00:00So let me tell you about how a mix-up at the cat distribution system led to 20 strays taking over my life.
00:05Don't bite me, Clarence!
00:07The story starts on my first night living in Spain, having moved here from the UK with my wife.
00:12On the first night, I looked into the garden and I saw two cats looking right at home.
00:16Eager to learn more about my mysterious new neighbours, I followed their tale.
00:20Turning a corner, I came eye to eye with a line-up of 15 of the most glamorous-looking strays,
00:26peering curiously down from a wall.
00:28I did what every sensible person would do and immediately set to work on a high-stakes mission to feed them
00:33until they accepted me as, best case, mother.
00:36And failing that, one of their own.
00:38Feeding them became appointment entertainment and I started filming them to make videos.
00:43After posting them online, a few people rightly pointed out
00:46that their nutritious new diet could lead to an explosion in their numbers.
00:50And frankly, 20 was plenty.
00:52I got in touch with Cat Protection Palenza to see what could responsibly be done to keep their numbers down
00:57while also keeping them happy and healthy.
00:59Soon, I was visited by the unofficial patron saint of strays
01:03and one of my new all-time favourite people to discuss their trap-neuter-return programme,
01:09the charity's preferred course of action.
01:11Estefania and I soon caught the first date.
01:13A challenging couple of mornings, but even more so for the colony, who probably did not know what hit them.
01:18Sorry, Clarence.
01:19Every evening at 5 o'clock sharp, I'll have the whole crew in my garden howling for their dinner.
01:24And it does feel like they're starting to take the hit somewhat.
01:27And as much as I love them, I do actually already have a cat,
01:30who, rather understandably, is starting to take this incursion personally.
01:35Over the last couple of months, they've edged gradually closer and closer towards my front door
01:39and each morning I'm greeted by an increasing pile of cats asleep at my furniture.
01:44A few of them more formally, and I don't have time to do every single one,
01:48but here are a few of the bigger names on campus.
01:50First up, we've got everyone's favourite, the twins.
01:53Momo and Gyoza.
01:55These two were basically tiny balls of fluff when we first moved in.
01:58They're a bit bigger now and do their best to dominate proceedings,
02:01despite their diminutive size and less than fearsome growls.
02:05There's Buggy too, also a young heartthrob.
02:08Recently relieved of his tackle, sadly for him.
02:10We actually thought he was a girl for a long time, because, well, look at him.
02:14You've got your Simons, your Suki-loos and your Downhills.
02:17So called because of their short front legs.
02:19There's also Clarence.
02:21He's not part of the main colony,
02:23but he's probably the one who's getting closest to administering adoption by stealth.
02:27It seems like he was likely raised in closer contact with people,
02:30since he's a lot tamer than the others.
02:32Perhaps not too tame at times.
02:37Like, what is that?
02:39Guys, come on.
02:41I'm your friend, look.
02:43Momo. Momo's hissing.
02:46Clarence is chill.
02:49This is Mr Confident.
02:51He kind of hisses quite scarily.
03:01Please, Mariah, be nice.
03:05Oh, Clarence, that is not on.
04:48No!
04:51No!
04:54No!
04:56Guys!
