00:00Britney Spears' marriage to Sam Asghari,
00:03look, we saw some elements of it play out,
00:06but really, they were very private,
00:09and we don't know a lot about what happened
00:13within their, you know, within their house.
00:16We certainly had some reporting that we had done
00:19about Sam feeling afraid, that there were moments
00:23where he discovered Britney was sleeping
00:25with a knife under the bed,
00:27and that there was alleged domestic violence between them,
00:32that she was striking him.
00:34But he's never really spoken about any of that.
00:37So he went on the Sibling Revelry podcast,
00:40it's Oliver Hudson and Kate Hudson's podcast,
00:43and finally opened up about some of it.
00:46Now, I think it was interesting here,
00:48he does not say anything about Britney,
00:50and I think that's part of the terms of the divorce.
00:52I would imagine that they can't make any disparaging
00:55comments about each other,
00:56but he does have a lot to say about the world around Britney
00:59and what it was like for him to step into that.
01:01Remember, they met on a music video,
01:04one of her music videos, he was a dancer.
01:08Is he a dancer?
01:09He was a model.
01:10He was a model, yes.
01:11Sorry, I don't wanna get that, he was a model.
01:13But here's what he said once they got together,
01:17the things that were really shocking to him.
01:19There's seven years worth of relationship
01:22that comes from the music video,
01:24and a marriage, and a lot of experiences,
01:28and a lot of experiences,
01:33which I like to call it a crash course in Hollywood.
01:35One day, I started learning about
01:37what the conservatorship is, and things like that.
01:40That's when I was like, wait a minute,
01:42like, I thought, I'm in America.
01:44When you meet someone over the age of 18,
01:46needs permission from their parents,
01:48and all this ridiculous thing.
01:50That was by far the most,
01:54I'm not gonna say difficult,
01:55because I don't think anything's difficult.
01:57That was the weirdest thing to deal with.
02:00It really is amazing to, honestly,
02:02I feel like I don't even know his voice that well,
02:04because he never spoke, and he wasn't allowed to speak,
02:07and you couldn't get into his world
02:10and find out about these two.
02:11So to hear him talking,
02:13like makes me wanna go listen to the full episode.
02:14I've heard clips here and there,
02:15but I wanna go listen to what he has to say for some reason.
02:18I feel, on one hand, I feel sorry for him,
02:21because that is a lot to suddenly deal with.
02:24I don't really, I'm sorry, I don't get the,
02:26I didn't know any of this.
02:28I mean, at the point when they got together,
02:30Brittany had been under the conservatorship for a while.
02:33She had had previous relationships.
02:36She had an engagement that ended
02:39before they got to the altar.
02:40So there had been plenty out there
02:44about Brittany's life, and about the conservatorship,
02:46and the fact that-
02:47People on the planet, of course,
02:48he's gonna know something about her.
02:50I'm sorry, this is like Meghan Markle going,
02:53I didn't know anything about Prince Harry.
02:56I didn't know about his family.
02:58Come on, how did he not know?
03:01Can't play dumb at all levels.
03:02And I get he didn't know the details,
03:04but everyone knew that she was under conservatorship,
03:05and that her decisions, or her finances,
03:09her personal decisions as far as medical decisions,
03:13were all made by the conservatorship.
03:15And also, to go back to Dax's point
03:17of him not really being able to talk,
03:19our understanding is that Sam,
03:21when they finalized this divorce,
03:23he signed an NDA that he wouldn't ever talk about Brittany.
03:27Because we had done that story back a few months ago
03:30when we knew he was going off
03:31to film the Traders reality show,
03:33and we knew that when he went to go film that show,
03:36he was not gonna be able to talk about her, even positively.
03:39And people that have watched the show now,
03:41because it is currently airing,
03:43say that Brittany has been brought up
03:45as a topic on the show,
03:46and he kind of diverts the conversation off of Brittany,
03:49which makes you assume that that NDA is still in place.
03:53I spoke to Sam's manager this morning,
03:55and he's very insistent that these interviews that Sam,
04:00or this podcast that Sam did,
04:02is not at all a dig at Brittany,
04:04but he did also tell me that there is more
04:07that's gonna come out from this podcast, apparently.
04:09So I'm curious, I guess the question
04:11that I've gotta now go back and ask is,
04:13well, what's going on with the NDA?
04:14Because he's talking about her,
04:15but he wouldn't talk about her on the reality show.
04:17Yeah, I think he is walking a fine line, right?
04:20He's not speaking about,
04:22he didn't say anything about Brittany.
04:23He said, at least to this point,
04:25he's just talked about the people around her,
04:27and how it impacted him.
04:29When you have him on the Traders show,
04:31isn't that hard to hire someone
04:33knowing they can't talk about the one thing
04:34everyone wants to know about?
04:36Because then it's like,
04:37what's the point of having him on the show?
04:39I think for him, there's a lot of exit stage left,
04:42I'm out of that conversation.
04:43Hi, my name is Zakiya, I'm located in Arizona.
04:47And I feel like Sam must have really felt powerless
04:51and lost on how to support his then wife, Brittany Spears,
04:55during this conservatorship
04:57that took away her basic human rights.
05:00He must have felt like an outsider looking in,
05:04because he wasn't able to support Brittany,
05:06because she didn't have control
05:07over all the aspects of her life.
05:09Yeah, I think he wanted the things,
05:12maybe the things he wanted to do, he couldn't,
05:14because that's just not in her power.
05:17But let's also say, Sam has gotten some benefit from,
05:22I'm not saying that's why he married her,
05:23but he's gotten roles now, and he's more recognized.
05:27I thought Brittany was doing really well
05:29when she was with him.
05:30She seemed very happy.
05:33There was a shift in her after they got divorced
05:35that I started to get more concerned about her,
05:37but I felt like when they were together,
05:38she seemed really good.
05:41That's one way to look at it. My opinion.
05:43That's your opinion.
