00:00It's me again.
00:05Trina.
00:06From art history.
00:07Yeah, glad you remembered.
00:09I'm sorry, I'm not in a good place for visitors right now.
00:12Yeah, I know that the news is definitely not good, but maybe...
00:16Not good.
00:17Trina, the orthopedist said if I play again, I could wind up paralyzed.
00:21My football career is over.
00:25The PCPD has been looped in with the suspicious deaths that have been happening in our hospital.
00:31I'm glad to hear it.
00:33Now it's time for the hard part.
00:35As in?
00:37I have to notify the families about what really happened to their loved ones.
00:42That needs a conversation.
00:48Not at all.
00:55DOOR CLOSES
01:18KNOCKING
01:24DOOR OPENS
01:26Hello again.
01:32You're so right. I so needed this.
01:36I hate to say I told you so.
01:38Permission granted.
01:40I told you so.
01:42Yeah. Thank you so much for encouraging me to doodle something for myself.
01:47Or as Emma would say, prioritizing self-care.
01:51Hmm, that's really a movement, huh?
01:53Oh, it's such a thing. How they all have all this time for all this self-care is beyond me.
01:59Speaking of Emma, now that you're relaxed...
02:03What has my granddaughter done now?
02:11Hey! I heard you stomping up the stairs. Bad news?
02:15The worst.
02:18One Manhattan, just the way you like it.
02:21If it was the way I liked it, it wouldn't have maraschino cherries in it.
02:27Actually, those aren't.
02:29This drink is meant to be made with amarena cherries.
02:33No problem. I'll make another one.
02:36No, you won't.
02:52Thank you so much for coming in to see me.
02:55Actually, the timing fit in perfectly.
02:58Good, good. That's good.
03:00I'm curious as to why I'm here.
03:06There's no easy way to say this.
03:09So I'm just gonna rip off the band-aid.
03:12I'm sorry.
03:15There's no easy way to say this.
03:18So I'm just gonna rip off the band-aid.
03:21That's the preferable method.
03:24The hospital has been investigating Sam's death, as you know.
03:28So they know what caused the heart attack?
03:31It stemmed from a drug that she should not have been given.
03:35I'm sorry, what? Someone gave her the wrong medication?
03:39Someone made a mistake? Isn't there some kind of protocol for that?
03:43What happened to Sam wasn't a mistake.
03:46It was intentional.
03:48So you're saying that someone gave her the wrong drug on purpose?
03:52Yes, I am.
03:54Someone murdered my daughter?
03:57So a few nights ago, I had to stay late at the hospital.
04:01It was about 2 a.m. when I was driving home.
04:04I'm so scared.
04:06I saw Emma on the sidewalk in front of the Mercury Club.
04:09Doing what?
04:11She was mad. She was laughing.
04:13She was with a bunch of kids her age.
04:15Maybe a little bit older, but then I debated,
04:18should I pull over and take her home?
04:21But then I didn't think she would go with me,
04:23but yet I couldn't leave her there.
04:25Okay, so you put her under surveillance?
04:27I support that. That's...
04:29Well, yeah, I stayed with her
04:31and made sure she made it to your house safely.
04:33Oh, thank you.
04:35You went above and beyond. Thank you.
04:37You know I would do anything for Emma.
04:39I know.
04:41What night did you say this was?
04:43I didn't. Um, Tuesday.
04:45Tuesday? Okay.
04:47Yeah, that's the night that she said
04:49that she was gonna catch up with all her studying
04:51and go to bed early, and I was stuck at the station,
04:53so I had to take her word for it.
04:55Well, again, nothing bad happened.
04:57I just thought you should know and get your marching orders
05:00if there's a next time.
05:02There'll be a next time.
05:04How do you want me to handle it?
05:07Well, I'm pleased to see you in better spirits.
05:10Yes, I got to see Michael.
05:12Oh, sit.
05:14I mean, he wasn't awake or anything.
05:16They have a medically-induced coma.
05:18But the doctors say he's responding well to the treatment.
05:22That's wonderful.
05:24Of course, they did tell me that on the phone.
05:27Yeah, but it packs a different punch
05:29when you can see him for yourself.
05:31It does.
05:35You know, for your advice
05:37and mostly for getting Michael into the clinic,
05:39I'm really grateful.
05:41You're welcome.
05:43And curious.
05:45Why are you being so nice to me?
05:47You know,
05:49I've been asking myself the same question.
05:53I am so sorry.
05:56Oh, honey, I know how disappointed you must be,
05:59but you know what? This is not the end of the road.
06:01Not by a long shot.
06:03These treatments have made amazing strides.
06:05Ma, that's not why I'm upset.
06:07No?
06:09Then why are you grinding your heels into nubs?
06:11Tracy insisted on hiring Lulu
06:13to be my assistant at Deception.
06:15And you know our history.
06:17Uh, yeah.
06:19Like, 100 years ago, Carly hired you
06:21to break up her and Dante.
06:23But, okay, A, that's on Carly,
06:25not on you,
06:27and B, it didn't work,
06:29so why does it bother you all these years later?
06:31For me, it still bothers Lulu,
06:33and because of that and so many other reasons,
06:35the last thing that I want
06:37is to have Lulu Spencer as my assistant.
06:39Okay.
06:41It's not ideal, but it's also not the end of the world.
06:47You're right.
06:49Okay.
06:51Everything will be okay.
06:53I will deal with Lulu.
06:55That's the spirit.
06:57You know what? She's the last thing I should be focused on,
06:59not today.
07:01What good news?
07:03Well, Dr. Navarro sent over my test results.
07:05I can have a baby.
07:07My baby can have a baby!
07:09Oh, yay!
07:11Oh, baby.
07:25Chase?
07:27Hey, honey, is Brooklyn okay?
07:29I saw her off up the stairs.
07:31She did not look happy.
07:33I haven't seen Brooklyn in a minute,
07:35but she went to work today.
07:37Maybe something went down, a deception.
07:39Look, I hope that's all it is.
07:41This family could really use some good news for a change.
07:45I was kind of hoping maybe we'd get a little
07:47good news from you two kids.
07:51Seems fine to me.
07:53What would you know? You only drink beer.
07:55Poor her.
07:57It's fine. I can make another drink.
07:59With bitters this time?
08:01Anything else, Tracy?
08:03Not at the moment, no.
08:09Is it necessary to order her around like that?
08:11Oh, I am not discussing manners with you.
08:15However, the ridiculous deal
08:17that you brokered with Willow,
08:19that I will discuss. It's not going to work.
08:21She won't comply with the simplest ground rules.
08:23You said you wanted Wylie and Amelia close.
08:25You got exactly what you wanted.
08:27Hardly. Nina is practically
08:29building a moat around the gatehouse
08:31and Willow. And Willow is acting like
08:33she's doing us a big favor
08:35staying here. Because she is.
08:37And we should show her
08:39some respect.
08:41Or you, Mother, will be out
08:43on your high-class derriere.
08:47I'm sorry, honey.
08:49I'm not trying to put pressure on you and Brooklyn.
08:51I just get so jazzed at the thought of another
08:53little baby running around this house.
08:55As if you would throw me out.
08:57I won't have to. Yuri will
08:59do the honors once Monica hears
09:01you're refusing Willow any grace.
09:03Grace for what? She's squatting on my property.
09:05It's Monica's property.
09:07I should probably go referee.
09:11You need to give Willow some credit
09:13for compromising. Something you certainly
09:15didn't do when you took off with Dylan and left me
09:17holding the bag. Your mother and father
09:19were devastated. I made the only choice I could
09:21at the time. And Willow made her choice.
09:23To meet us halfway when she didn't have to.
09:25We are bending over backwards for her.
09:27You kids need a time out. We have to make
09:29boundaries. Like, for instance,
09:31is she welcome in the main house?
09:33Will she be joining us
09:35for dinner? Guess not.
09:37And is she joining me for book club?
09:39You're not in a book club. And I highly
09:41doubt she'll want to do any of those things with us
09:43after the way you've treated her.
09:45Uh-uh. Where are you going?
09:47Sasha, forget the Manhattans.
09:49Bourbon.
09:51Straight up. Two fingers for everybody.
09:53Nobody's leaving until we figure out
09:55what to do with the adulteress in the gatehouse.
10:01You know, I just don't know what to do, really.
10:03When I was Emma's age, I was already
10:05in training to become an agent, you know?
10:07God knows I was no angel at 21.
10:09Well, I don't expect her to be one.
10:11I mean, my goal is not to stop her
10:13from living her life, but she shouldn't
10:15just lie to my face outright, you know?
10:17It's not cool. No, it's not.
10:19When? Saturday. Grandma?
10:21Aunt Felicia.
10:23Hey, sweetheart. Gosh,
10:25I need this manicure so badly. I know I look hideous.
10:27Pick a color. Join us.
10:29Yeah. Why don't you pick a color that
10:31will match your clubbing outfits?
10:33Huh. Clubbing.
10:35Like I have time for that. You don't?
10:37Oh, no. I'm too busy studying.
10:39Oh, so is that what you were doing
10:41outside the Mercury Club the other night?
10:43Studying?
10:45Did you see textbooks and laptops, you know, by chance?
10:47Oh, no, not one. That's so strange.
10:49Oh, I get it.
10:51This isn't a spa day.
10:53It's an interrogation.
10:55Well, I want to pretend
10:57you haven't made my life vastly more complicated.
10:59Yet you
11:01never seem to mind helping me.
11:03Does that raise a red flag?
11:05Small one.
11:07I'm sure that Anne has alleged that I
11:09have some kind of nefarious agenda.
11:11Once or twice?
11:13Yeah, like a broken record, I'm sure.
11:17I've thought about it.
11:19A lot.
11:21And I just don't see what your angle would be.
11:23Unless you're interested in the world
11:25of hotel management.
11:27Thank you, but I'm happy with my current employment.
11:29I thought so.
11:31I won't bore you with the details,
11:33but when I first came to Port Charles,
11:35I was on a mission.
11:37A literal mission.
11:39I was planning on leaving upon completion.
11:41What I wasn't planning on
11:43was meeting you.
11:45But for the record,
11:47I had no intention of pursuing you.
11:51Until you visited me
11:53in prison.
11:55So it's my fault.
11:57Yeah, pretty much, yeah.
11:59It, uh,
12:01it took me by surprise
12:03how much I looked forward to seeing you.
12:05I consider you a friend, Carly.
12:07Not someone that I'm trying to
12:09cultivate as an asset.
12:11What if I was trying to cultivate you?
12:13Then I've enjoyed every
12:15damn second of it.
12:19The MRI showed that not only
12:21do I have a labrum tear in my shoulder,
12:23but my L4 vertebrae is also cracked.
12:25Well, do they need to operate?
12:27The doctor doesn't think so.
12:29Well, that's good news.
12:31Yeah, but I can't play football because I'd be
12:33risking spinal cord damage.
12:35And that's terrible news.
12:37You know, it doesn't even feel real.
12:39Right, last week I was
12:41an NFL prospect, and today I'm
12:43I'm nothing.
12:45You're not nothing.
12:47And I know what everyone's gonna say, right?
12:49That I should be grateful that it wasn't worse,
12:51that I can walk at least, that I'm gonna be alright.
12:53Okay, look, those words
12:55will never come out of my mouth, okay?
12:57But I will say,
12:59did you know that my mom
13:01is the head of this hospital?
13:03For real?
13:05She has always told me that medicine is both a science
13:07and an art.
13:09And your orthopedist gave you his best opinion,
13:11and maybe it's spot on,
13:13but you deserve to know everything you can
13:15about your injury.
13:17Yeah, I mean, I want that too.
13:19Then talk to my mom. She can help you figure out your next steps.
13:21No, it's okay.
13:23Why not?
13:25Because I don't want to impose.
13:27I want to help.
13:29So let me.
13:33I'm taking off my professional hat here.
13:35And I'm speaking to you
13:37mother to mother,
13:39because these are things that I would want to know.
13:41How did the hospital come up
13:43with this conclusion?
13:45Sam's autopsy
13:47revealed a lethally high dosage
13:49of digitalis.
13:51Now that's a drug commonly used to
13:53restore adequate circulation
13:55in patients with congestive heart failure.
13:57And too much of it
13:59could give you a heart attack.
14:01Especially when given to a patient with a healthy heart.
14:05Our initial theory
14:07was that Sam's cardiac arrest
14:09was a horrible
14:11mistake.
14:13It was an accident.
14:15But then we combed through the records.
14:17We interviewed the entire staff,
14:19and we couldn't find anyone who had administered
14:21the digitalis to Sam.
14:23But if someone had made an error,
14:25they may not know that.
14:27It's possible.
14:29But we also had another patient who died
14:31of a cardiac arrest.
14:33And he had lethal levels of
14:35digitalis in his system as well.
14:37So when we had a third
14:39patient who started experiencing
14:41heart palpitations, Dr. Gannon
14:43took a risk and administered
14:45the antidote for digitalis,
14:47and the patient stabilized.
14:49That's when we recognized
14:51the pattern, and that's when we notified the police.
14:53So that third patient
14:55got to live because the doctor
14:57was quick on his feet.
14:59I don't know that for certain, but I believe
15:01so, yes.
15:03Why would someone do this?
15:05I mean, she was
15:07in there helping somebody else.
15:09She was just lying helpless in her bed.
15:11Why?
15:13I don't know.
15:15But we're doing everything that we can
15:17to work with the police.
15:19Oh, I'm not leaving
15:21this to the police.
15:23She's my daughter,
15:25and I'm going to find the answers.
15:27We can all agree,
15:29Willow was wrong to cheat on Michael.
15:31Duh.
15:33But who in this house can cast stones when it comes to having an affair?
15:35Not you.
15:37Sorry. Reflex.
15:39This mess is all
15:41on Drew.
15:43Oh, and Willow bears no responsibility?
15:45She does.
15:47But we should give her a chance
15:49to create some distance from Drew,
15:51and hopefully she'll make a better decision in the future.
15:53Drew has her under
15:55his thumb. Unless, of course,
15:57she's savvier than we've given her
15:59credit for, and she's orchestrated this whole
16:01thing. But either way, we have to make
16:03rules before Drew
16:05wheels his way back in and Monica loses
16:07those children. I agree with Ned.
16:09Duh.
16:11Willow deserves a chance to prove herself.
16:13Chase?
16:15What about you?
16:17You know
16:19Willow better than any of us.
16:21What do you think?
16:25Brooklyn, I am
16:27so happy for you. I know
16:29how much this has been weighing you down.
16:31Oh, Mom, I was so scared.
16:33I was convinced that the only baby I'd
16:35ever have was the one I'd given up for adoption.
16:37You know? That I literally
16:39gave away my one chance to be a mother.
16:43Can I
16:45ask you something?
16:49Will you, um
16:51you promise
16:53to be honest with me? Sure.
16:55And I mean it. Like, don't water
16:57anything down to spare my feelings. Yeah, Mom,
16:59I promise.
17:01All those years ago
17:03in high school,
17:05baby,
17:07did you feel like you were pushed
17:09to do something you didn't want to do?
17:11Did you
17:13want to keep your baby?
17:17Willow made a mistake.
17:19Just one?
17:21But she's not a bad person, and she's certainly
17:23not a bad mother. She wants what's best
17:25for Wiley and Amelia, just like you do.
17:27If she wanted what was best for her children,
17:29perhaps she shouldn't have cheated on Michael
17:31in the first place? You wanted my opinion.
17:33I did. Go on.
17:35If you can learn to respect
17:37Willow, then I think you can all live together
17:39peacefully. What he said.
17:41You keep your focus on what is best
17:43for the children, and everything's gonna work out.
17:45Your naivete is mind-boggling.
17:47Drew is the problem here.
17:49He will use Willow to his
17:51own ends. Yes, but
17:53if we make Willow's life
17:55miserable, then that will send her
17:57running back to him. So, we need to
17:59be kind and patient
18:01and give Willow some space
18:03to come to her senses.
18:05That's your plan? Yes.
18:07And I believe it'll work.
18:09But not without your cooperation.
18:13You
18:15advised me, and thank God, because
18:17I had no idea what it meant to be a mother.
18:19But you didn't push me.
18:21Cross your heart? Cross my heart.
18:25Remember when I told you?
18:29That you were pregnant? Yeah.
18:31Honey, that is a conversation
18:33no mother forgets.
18:35I was terrified.
18:37Thought you would have been furious, which you would have
18:39had every right to be, but
18:41you weren't.
18:43You were kind and
18:45steady,
18:47and it's a good thing because, Ma, I was
18:49freaking out.
18:51You asked me what I wanted to do, and
18:53I didn't know, so you laid out my options
18:55for me.
18:57Isn't it funny how the mind
18:59works? Because
19:01I remember in vivid
19:03detail, you coming
19:05to me, you sitting
19:07me down, you saying,
19:09Ma,
19:11I'm pregnant.
19:13Then the tears, and then after
19:15that, everything is just a complete
19:17blur. Well, you were incredible.
19:19That's good to know.
19:21You helped me
19:23come to the decision to
19:25give the baby up for adoption.
19:27Was it easy? No.
19:29It was
19:31the hardest choice I have ever
19:33made, but I've never regretted it.
19:37You have no idea how relieved I am
19:39to hear you say that.
19:41Do you think about it sometimes, though?
19:45What kind of life my baby has?
19:47You know, where are they?
19:49Are they happy?
19:51Of course I debate
19:53back and forth. Was it a boy? Was it a girl?
19:57Never knew you thought so much about
19:59a baby. Ma,
20:01I don't obsess over it, but yeah,
20:03every once in a while, I have a
20:05what-could-have-been moment.
20:07But I was too young,
20:09and a baby
20:11would have changed my life in
20:13ways I was not ready for, so thank you,
20:15Ma,
20:17for your guidance at a time when
20:19I needed it the most.
20:21Well, look at you now,
20:23ready to start your own
20:25family, and knowing that you can?
20:27Life is good.
20:29It really is.
20:33Thank God.
20:39What did you
20:41put in this drink?
20:43You asked for bourbon.
20:45With a lemon rind? Mother.
20:47I like lemon. Lemons are out of season
20:49this time of year.
20:51Not in the south of France, where these lemons are from.
20:53The correct garnish
20:55is orange peel.
20:57I'll grab an orange. No,
20:59you won't, because Tracy's being
21:01dramatic.
21:03Did somebody say dramatic?
21:05A mouse! Where?
21:07In the bookcase!
21:09I'll get it. No, no, no, no,
21:11no, no, no. Sasha will
21:13get it. Me? You just called
21:15me dramatic.
21:17What happened? Somebody
21:19screamed? Yeah, Tracy, she's freaked out
21:21because of a little mouse. Get a dustpan
21:23and get that vermin out.
21:25I'm not climbing up those shelves, Tracy.
21:27If you don't climb up those shelves, you will be
21:29looking for employment someplace else.
21:31Really? I'm not climbing anything.
21:33I'm pregnant.
21:41Oh my God.
21:43You're pregnant with
21:45your cousin's baby.
21:47It's not Cody's baby.
21:49Not that it's any of your business. Isn't it?
21:51Oh, you're drifting dangerously
21:53close to an HR complaint.
21:55This is not a corporation.
21:57It's a family with a cook who apparently
21:59parades strange men through the house at will.
22:01Okay, first of all, it did not happen
22:03here. Oh, anyone an explanation?
22:05It was the night that
22:07I had found out Cody was my cousin.
22:09I went to a bar, I ended up
22:11drinking too much, I started talking
22:13to someone, and we got a hotel room.
22:15TMI. You kind of pushed her
22:17on it. It was a one-time thing.
22:19I'm not in contact with the father,
22:21and I will not be going forward.
22:23Are you going to do this on your own?
22:25And if anyone has any
22:27complaints or judgments...
22:29Oh, well. I didn't
22:31grow up with a father. It was just me
22:33and my mom, and I had a great
22:35childhood. You see that?
22:37That's proof that your baby is going
22:39to be just fine. I mean, can you imagine a
22:41sweeter kid than Gio?
22:43I should be so lucky.
22:45Dr. Gannon, this is
22:47Alexis Davis, and she has some
22:49questions for you.
22:51I'm happy to answer them.
22:53Thank you. Do you need me to stay?
22:55It won't be necessary.
22:57Okay, if you need anything, just have me
22:59paged, alright?
23:01How is it possible
23:03that my daughter was murdered here
23:05in this hospital?
23:07I need a favor.
23:09Okay, anything you want.
23:11You know Kai Taylor, PCU's
23:13quarterback?
23:15Um, the kid that transferred here
23:17after his injury. The football player
23:19who I did the project with.
23:21Yeah. What can I do?
23:23So, he just got some
23:25bad news about his back, like
23:27career-ending news.
23:29Sorry. Poor kid.
23:31Yeah, um, and I was hoping that you could talk
23:33to him. Honey, I'm not up to
23:35speed on his case or anything.
23:37Yeah, I know, but you can, like, look at his chart,
23:39right? And maybe tell him what his
23:41options might be.
23:43He's just losing hope, and I really want to help him.
23:45Well, if you want to help him,
23:47so do I.
23:49Lead the way.
23:55I'm not a little kid anymore.
23:57Of course, I can see that, yes.
23:59And while you are obviously
24:01welcome to a social life, you're not
24:03welcome to lie to me.
24:05Or sneak around behind my back.
24:07Because, one, what if something were to happen to you?
24:09If you were to get hurt, and I wouldn't know where you were.
24:11Or two, I thought you
24:13said that your behavior up in
24:15Berkeley, it wasn't the norm, and that you were going to try
24:17to do better. Yeah, yeah, I'm sorry that I lied,
24:19okay? But I wouldn't have to if I was
24:21living in the dorms like everybody else.
24:23Then you wouldn't have to worry. Yes, but I still would,
24:25because you've already proven yourself to be irresponsible
24:27and untruthful. Do you even care why I was at the
24:29Mercury Club? I'm sure that there's really just
24:31one reason why you're at the club. Okay, well, this was
24:33different. I was at a fundraising event
24:35for Students Against Animal Cruelty.
24:37Yeah, and we raised a bunch of money for an awareness campaign
24:39on campus. That's nice.
24:41Did you know PCU labs
24:43still test on animals? They do not.
24:45Yeah. Rats, pigs,
24:47monkeys, rabbits. Rabbits?
24:49Okay, so you were out clubbing at 2am
24:51because you were trying to save the lab rats.
24:53And have a little fun, too.
24:55Sheesh.
24:57Do not sheesh me.
24:59I don't get it, Grandma. Since when
25:01are you so uptight?
25:03I call BS.
25:05On. You haven't enjoyed
25:07every second of me cultivating you.
25:09Almost every second,
25:11though.
25:13Have you heard about the
25:15thermal spa here?
25:17In the hotel?
25:19Yeah. The waters are world-renowned
25:21for their health benefits.
25:23I've got some time.
25:25Care to join me? My treat.
25:29I can't.
25:31I can't.
25:33The clinic is asking
25:35for Michael's cultures from GH,
25:37and I have to figure out how to coordinate
25:39that, and I have a feeling it's going to be a headache
25:41getting everything through customs, so
25:43I can't. Why don't you send the cultures
25:45to the WSB office in Port Charles?
25:47I'll have them courier it to
25:49Germany.
25:51Really? Yeah, it'd be my pleasure.
25:55I mean, that would be a huge
25:57help.
25:59Did you change your mind about the spa? I'm headed there now.
26:01Not this time.
26:03But maybe next?
26:05Don't answer.
26:07Let a man dream.
26:09Excuse me.
26:19Thank you for the illuminating peek
26:21into your social life.
26:23Now call the exterminator.
26:25Call him
26:27yourself.
26:31This is the perfect
26:33time for us to make an exit.
26:37It was one mouse,
26:39Mother, I hardly think an exterminator is
26:41necessary. Because the children, you know.
26:43Eating all over the
26:45house and leaving crumbs,
26:47and Danny and Rocco are the worst
26:49offenders. Have you ever seen those two without a
26:51smack in their hands? They're teenage boys,
26:53Tracy, what do you expect?
26:55I expect them to eat like
26:57civilized human beings and while
26:59they're at it, close the doors.
27:01Stop letting the heat out
27:03and the vermin in.
27:05And when did we become
27:07a daycare center?
27:09Why are we obliged to offer
27:11childcare to everyone?
27:13Mother, I thought you liked children.
27:15You just kidnapped two.
27:19Kai, this is my mom,
27:21Dr. Portia Robinson. Mom,
27:23this is Kai Taylor. Hi Kai.
27:25Nice to meet you. You too.
27:27I wish it was under better circumstances, right?
27:29Tell me how you're feeling.
27:31I'm okay.
27:33I'll let you two talk.
27:35I don't mind
27:37if you stay.
27:39Are you sure?
27:41Well, I
27:43have your chart. Mind you,
27:45I'm not an orthopedist, but
27:47I did take a look at your scan.
27:49And you have a fracture
27:51on your L4 vertebrae.
27:53Yeah, so that's it.
27:55Game over? Not necessarily.
27:59I can't speculate as to the
28:01killer's motivation.
28:03But with the second patient
28:05going into cardiac arrest, it didn't make sense.
28:07Much like your daughter,
28:09his injuries hadn't been severe.
28:11He hadn't required a prolonged
28:13surgery. He never had
28:15heart problems before.
28:17This man was in excellent health.
28:19So was Sam.
28:21That's why when the third patient went into cardiac arrest,
28:23You had the other two cases in mind.
28:25I started him on a lidocaine drip
28:27to get the heart attack under control.
28:29And when that didn't work,
28:31I took a chance and gave him the
28:33antidote to digitalis. And that did work?
28:35In all honesty,
28:37I never would have made that call had it not been
28:39for the second patient.
28:41But in the case of the third patient,
28:43cardiac arrest would make sense.
28:45His condition was severe
28:47and putting a lot of
28:49strain on his heart.
28:51Well, that third patient was really lucky
28:53that you were quick on your feet.
28:55I just wish I could have done the same for your daughter.
28:57So do I, Dr. Kim.
28:59You have no idea how much.
29:01There's a difference between being
29:03uptight and responsible.
29:05And I'm the latter.
29:07Okay, yes.
29:09But you work all the time.
29:11I mean, I still don't even know when you sleep.
29:13And I live with you.
29:15She has a good point.
29:17Oh, zip it. Yes, okay, fine.
29:19Alright, I admit.
29:21Due to recent events, I have been
29:23burning the candle at both ends.
29:25You've had a rough year, and your work is
29:27crazy important to you.
29:29I understand that.
29:31But Grandma, I never see you.
29:33Okay.
29:35Well, maybe we should remedy that.
29:37I miss spending time with you.
29:39Well, we'll spend some more time together
29:41once things calm down.
29:43That'll never happen, and you know it.
29:47Hi. Is everything okay?
29:49Everything's great. Michael settled in
29:51at the clinic, and the doctor said
29:53he's really responding well to the treatment.
29:55Oh, that's wonderful.
29:57They say they need his lab cultures from GH.
29:59Is there any way you could help me with that?
30:01Of course. It might be a little
30:03tricky, though, shipping them to
30:05Germany. Yeah, I thought about that,
30:07but once again, Jack Brennan
30:09saves the day. He told me to have them
30:11sent to the WSB field office,
30:13and he would take it from there.
30:15Jack Brennan?
30:17Look, he has been incredibly helpful.
30:19I mean, we wouldn't have gotten Michael into the clinic
30:21without him.
30:23Carly, I say this knowing full well
30:25you can take care of yourself, but when it comes to
30:27Jack Brennan, please proceed with
30:29caution.
30:31That was...
30:33Did you see the look on my grandmother's face
30:35when Sasha said she was pregnant?
30:37I guess she was definitely thrown for a loop.
30:39I thought she was going to stroke out, but you know what?
30:41Good for Sasha. She does what she wants to do,
30:43and I like that.
30:47Speaking of
30:49pregnancies, I have amazing
30:51news.
30:55Hiya, deflection. Yeah, I used to be
30:57good at that when I was your age, too.
30:59What are you talking about? Oh, I don't know, the way you sort of
31:01deftly steered the conversation away from the Mercury Club.
31:03That place was really cool.
31:05Yeah, they have the best DJ. I see you did it again.
31:07I'm sure they do.
31:09We should go dancing sometime.
31:13Yeah, I bet Aunt Felicia would come.
31:15She's fun. I'm fun.
31:17I am.
31:19I just feel like you should be concentrating
31:21on your education. I can do both.
31:23Oh yeah? Prove it. Okay.
31:27How about this? Next semester,
31:29if I make straight A's, you come clubbing with me.
31:31Deal. Yay.
31:33Yeah. Bet when we go,
31:35I'll be able to teach you a few things.
31:37Oh, no, Grandma.
31:39I already know how to do all that. Oh yeah?
31:41Well, we'll see.
31:55It's okay.
31:57We're gonna be fine, baby.
31:59Just you and me.
32:01Does Michael know?
32:07This is so exciting.
32:09A new baby in the house.
32:11Yippee. Hey, Mother.
32:13What?
32:15You need to tone it down with Sasha.
32:17Oh, yeah.
32:19I should treat her with kid gloves now that she's pregnant.
32:21Hope she isn't expecting maternity leave.
32:23What you said
32:25about your mom,
32:27that was really sweet.
32:29Well, it's all true.
32:31My mom was amazing.
32:33My only wish would be to
32:35have had more time with her.
32:39Well, Dr. Navarro says
32:41all my tests came back fine.
32:43And in news that probably
32:45won't come as a shock to you,
32:47I've been stressing for nothing.
32:49So I'll get back to work.
32:51I've been stressing for nothing.
32:53So I'll get pregnant when I get pregnant,
32:55but hopefully sooner rather than later
32:57so that our baby can play with Sasha's.
32:59Is that great news?
33:01Chase, what's wrong?
33:05I'm so sorry.
33:07Why?
33:09My tests came back too.
33:11And, uh...
33:15Brooklyn, I can't get you pregnant.
33:17If I were you,
33:19I would get a second opinion.
33:21Maybe even a third,
33:23if need be.
33:25Our orthopedists are excellent,
33:27but you need to find a specialist.
33:29Someone who deals in sports medicine.
33:31Someone that's going to give it to you straight.
33:33Not tell me what I want to hear, you mean.
33:35Exactly.
33:37It's very likely that your prognosis
33:39will be the same.
33:41But whether or not you play football,
33:43you deserve to know everything
33:45about your injury.
33:47That's exactly what I said.
33:49She's a smart cookie.
33:51Thank you, Dr. Robinson, really.
33:53Okay.
33:55Let me know if you need anything else.
34:01Your mom is amazing.
34:03Yeah, she really is.
34:05Now I know where you get it from.
34:09I'm very sorry.
34:11As if grappling with the loss of your daughter
34:13is why you have to deal with this on top of it.
34:15Someone killed Sam on purpose?
34:17Yes.
34:19Why would anyone do that?
34:21Why?
34:23I don't know.
34:25But I hope they're found.
34:27And soon.
34:29Oh, I'm going to find them.
34:31And I'm not going to stop until I do.
34:37Would you like a refreshment?
34:39Oh, some water would be wonderful.
34:41With some lemon slices, if you have them.
34:43Of course.
34:49Don't forget,
34:51when Frisco was ousted at the WSB,
34:53it was Jack Brennan who orchestrated it.
34:55That man will stop
34:57at nothing to get what he wants.
34:59Okay.
35:01Thank you for looking out for me.
35:03Really, I appreciate it.
35:05But Jack has been nothing but generous
35:07and kind.
35:09He's short of agenda.
35:11Or maybe he's a decent guy.
35:13I'm not changing your mind on this, am I?
35:15I like Jack Brennan.
35:19He's intriguing.
35:21And I want to know more.
35:27Would you like a hot towel?
35:29Oh, please.
35:31After all my flights, I'm desperate for a pore cleansing.
35:33Don't be afraid to go deep.
35:35If you insist.
