00:00Tyler, good morning.
00:02Good morning guys, how you doing?
00:05Great, how are you?
00:06I'm hanging in there, man.
00:08Hey, I'm sitting there having my coffee, having my little morning smoke.
00:12I got to go to Connecticut today to sell some Corvus.
00:14So, you know, I'm good, I'm good, guys.
00:16Man, what's going on?
00:17Talk to me.
00:18Where are you heading in Connecticut?
00:20Well, first I'm going up to Foxwoods.
00:24Got to see some of my guys up there.
00:26And then I'm just going to hit a couple little meetings with some restaurant groups,
00:29you know, try to get this Corvus on that menu, man.
00:31It's about the menu.
00:32So, guys out there, Corvus week coming, but we need to be on the menu.
00:37The menu, not the back bar, the menu.
00:39We got to be in a specialty cocktail so you can taste it, man.
00:42Liquid to lips is what I call it.
00:44Once I get the liquid to the lips, we in there.
00:46I like it.
00:48Should we add a Connecticut road show?
00:51Yes.
00:52I'm often asked to do a road show in Connecticut.
00:55Yes, we should.
00:56You think we should?
00:57Yeah.
00:59Hey, man, you got a big fan base there, Greg.
01:01Everybody love y'all, man.
01:02You got to go to Connecticut and show them some love.
01:04Okay.
01:05Well, find a restaurant for us while you're down there.
01:07All right.
01:08What do you think about this matchup, Super Bowl 59?
01:14I love it.
01:15I love it, man.
01:16It's like, you know, so much drama going into these playoffs with the Lamar Jackson,
01:21you know, Buffalo.
01:23I mean, the nemesis.
01:24I'm like, man, how could you just lose that many times to Patrick Mahomes,
01:29you know, Josh Allen.
01:30But, hey, I've been there.
01:32I've seen this story before.
01:33You know, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning.
01:35I mean, it happens, and that's what separates, you know,
01:39the greats from the very good players, the Hall of Fame players.
01:43But when you want to be in that GOAT conversation,
01:45you got to win these big games and win championships.
01:48Ty, you feel like, you know, Philly's a good team,
01:51but do you feel like that it's until somebody shows that they can beat
01:56Patrick Mahomes, you're not betting against them?
01:59Hell, no, I ain't betting against Patrick Mahomes.
02:02That's like going into it.
02:03I say it all the time.
02:04It's like going in, betting against Tom Brady.
02:06You can't do it.
02:07Now, overall, I think Philly has the more complete team,
02:11but this is a regular occurrence for Kansas City.
02:15This is another game of those guys,
02:16so they're not going to get too caught up into the bright lights of the Super
02:20Bowl.
02:21And you know, Wiggy, that is a different game as far as the timeouts,
02:24the halftime.
02:26I mean, everything is magnified,
02:28and some people just ain't ready for the bright lights.
02:31You know, it was a great game.
02:34They almost got them the last time they matched up.
02:36But overall, Philly, from top to bottom, better roster.
02:42But you have Patrick Mahomes over there that can eliminate all that other stuff
02:46because of the type of player that he is.
02:48Nick Sirianni was trying to play the Jalen Hurts doesn't get the accolades
02:57that he should get card, maybe to get him fired up or get those guys fired up.
03:02Do you feel like he is underappreciated when it comes to where he is
03:07currently in the NFL?
03:09Hell, no, he ain't underappreciated.
03:11What did that contract you just had?
03:13How much?
03:14$200 million.
03:15It was like $30 million, something like that.
03:17Something crazy.
03:18Man, he is well-appreciated.
03:21Man, I was trying to go out there and win a football game.
03:23So as far as putting him on the level when we're talking about him,
03:28his accomplishments and all that stuff, no, he's not that.
03:32But, oh, he is paid very well.
03:35He's paid for his potential and what he's done so far.
03:38So he is, hey, come on, we want to be appreciated by that check too.
03:43We want all the good stuff to come along with it.
03:45But, hey, when somebody invests that kind of money into you,
03:48damn it, we appreciate you.
03:50So that's no excuse.
03:51Five years, $255 million, $179 million guaranteed.
03:56That's Jalen Hurts.
03:58Man, that's appreciation.
04:01You put appreciation, look it up in the dictionary,
04:06Jalen Hurts' picture might be right there.
04:08Ty, a lot of talk this week about did the Bills get screwed by the refs
04:12when it came to that Kansas City game.
04:14Did you think so?
04:15No, I mean, that stuff is going to stick because they seem like
04:21they just get the calls.
04:23And if it's close, you know where it's going to go.
04:26But, hey, they earned that spot.
04:28I can't say there's no funny stuff going on because this is a good football
04:32team, not trying to take anything away from them.
04:34But some calls are questionable.
04:36It's like, you know, when this is basketball, when you go in there,
04:40you touch Michael Jordan's foul.
04:42That's just the way it is.
04:45But I don't think that they got screwed.
04:48They had a chance to win at the end, even that pass.
04:51That was catchable at the end.
04:53Yeah, I don't know.
04:54I mean, you're a professional athlete.
04:57You got to catch that.
04:58That was a punt.
04:59Yes, it wasn't a good throw.
05:00It was a punt.
05:01But your receiver, you had a chance to catch that.
05:04That was an easy, easy catch.
05:05So they had opportunity.
05:07So they didn't get screwed out of that game.
05:09They just lost, and Patrick Mahomes did what he did.
05:11I don't know if I'd call it an easy, easy catch, but it was in your hands.
05:14Yeah, I mean, it's a routine catch.
05:16Hey, Greg, Wiggy.
05:17Yeah.
05:18I mean, Greg, that was an easy catch, bro.
05:21Wiggy, that was an easy catch.
05:22Yeah, that's a routine catch.
05:24I mean, just the angle, what you went to try to catch it and turn it.
05:27But I mean, that was a punt.
05:29That was easy.
05:30Man, my son could have caught that ball.
05:32That's an easier catch than the Mark Andrews catch,
05:35going backwards and kind of stumbling a little bit,
05:37like some of those you're just leaning forward.
05:39Like Ty says, it's almost like catching a punt.
05:41That's a lot easier than actually the ball being thrown in the direction
05:45and coming down.
05:46Do you think the league is changing a little bit and going back to
05:52Still, it's still a quarterback-driven league,
05:54but when you start to look at, like, Philadelphia is able to get there
05:58because of their running back.
06:00The Buffalo Bills have shown that this year they were able to get there
06:03or be right in the mix because of Jake.
06:05The Ravens and Derrick Henry.
06:07Right.
06:08Is going back to the running back or having a running back
06:11of an elite-level caliber,
06:14are you starting to see a little bit of a shift back in that direction?
06:20Absolutely.
06:21I mean, we have a running game that you can keep guys like Patrick Mahomes
06:25off the field and that high-powered offense.
06:28That is key, and I think they're going to lean on Saquon
06:31to try to minimize the attempts that you give Patrick Mahomes.
06:35I mean, think about it.
06:36When we won our Super Bowls, I was looking at this stat
06:39with the first seven seasons with this whole is Patrick Mahomes,
06:44the goal is he better than Tom Brady.
06:46Better than Tom Brady, first seven seasons, 96 games.
06:49The difference is we wasn't leaning on Tom as much.
06:54Yeah, he was younger.
06:55He had to take more time to develop, I guess, than Patrick Mahomes,
06:59but we had a running game.
07:01That's how we got to the Super Bowl.
07:03That's how we won those Super Bowls, going through the running game,
07:06and we had a superior defense.
07:08Everything is thrown on Patrick Mahomes.
07:10He doesn't have a great running game.
07:12They get very creative with Andy Reid and his offensive play calling,
07:16and Patrick, he can make the plays when needed,
07:19but it runs through him.
07:22When you run through the running back, you can minimize those opportunities
07:26that you give somebody like Patrick Mahomes.
07:28If you can't stop Saquon, Philadelphia will win the game.
07:32If he does what Saquon does, Philadelphia will have a great opportunity
07:36to win the game by minimizing the attempts that you give Patrick Mahomes.
07:41Ty, it's not going to get quite the national conversation
07:45that Brady Mahomes will, but from where I sit, if Reid wins, it's four,
07:51Bill has six, and Reid has the 130 wins with the Eagles,
07:57four straight NMC title games, the Super Bowl appearance.
08:00What does it mean for the Reid-Belichick battle as the greatest coach
08:04if Reid gets his fourth two weeks from now?
08:08The same thing if Patrick Mahomes gets his rig.
08:13You're still going to be behind Belichick,
08:16and you're still going to be behind Brady.
08:18I don't know why people try to move the goalposts
08:22and act like championships don't matter.
08:25Championships matter, especially when you're talking about the coach
08:28and the most important position in football is the quarterback.
08:33So if Andy Reid goes out and gets his fourth one,
08:36you're still two behind Bill Belichick.
08:39If you go out there and get your fourth one, Patrick Mahomes,
08:41you're still three behind Tom Brady.
08:44I don't care what you did.
08:45It's about your whole body of work.
08:48And then if you really want to peel back,
08:51what Super Bowl did Andy Reid lose?
08:53Who did he lose to?
08:54Head up.
08:56Bill Belichick.
08:57Bill Belichick, right.
08:58And Tom Brady.
08:59Who did Patrick Mahomes lose to when Tom was about 75 years old?
09:06Who did he lose to?
09:08Tom Brady.
09:09So when it came to head up, who did they lose to
09:12in the championship game to go to the Super Bowl?
09:14Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.
09:16So you can't rewind that back because both of those guys is gone.
09:20So until you get there, we've seen four before.
09:22We've seen four.
09:24Remember a guy named Joe Montana?
09:27Remember a guy named Terry Bradshaw?
09:29So championships matter.
09:31Imagine if Buffalo, the loser of four straight Super Bowls,
09:35what if they hypothetically would have won all those Super Bowls?
09:38We'll be probably talking about Jim Kelly right now.
09:41We'll be talking about Bruce Smith,
09:43and he's already one of the best to ever do it,
09:46but his name doesn't come up in the GOAT conversations
09:50as far as defensive players.
09:52Why?
09:53Because of the championships.
09:54But Bruce Smith was an animal.
09:56Everyone knows that.
09:57If you talk about Lawrence Taylor's, the Ray Lewis's,
10:00the Mike Singletary's more because they're champions.
10:03So championships matter.
10:05So I hate when people move the goalposts when talking about these things
10:09like they don't matter.
10:10They do matter.
10:11Shyam doesn't believe that championships matter
10:13because he does not have Joe Montana in his top 10 all time.
10:17Montana's overrated.
10:18He has Osweiler ahead of him.
10:21Oh, my God.
10:22Sean, you get demoted.
10:25That's a fine.
10:26That's a fine.
10:27I mean, you just put in the swear jar because you swore just by thinking that.
10:33You know what I mean?
10:34Just in your head, man.
10:35You got to put at least 500 in the swear jar for that dumb shit.
10:38There it is.
10:39But, Ty, my point of view is it's like you brought up Terry Bradshaw.
10:43Nobody considers Terry Bradshaw one of the five greatest quarterbacks
10:46to ever live.
10:47Just because he won four Super Bowls doesn't mean that Joe Montana
10:50is one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever live,
10:52especially when he was throwing a Jerry Rice the whole time.
10:54And why does Mitch have Corvus on my head?
10:57I don't know.
11:00Hey, that's a good thing.
11:03That's a good thing.
11:04I am thinking about it.
11:05You don't drink, so we got to just put it by you.
11:07You know what I mean?
11:08We just got to have it near you.
11:09Right.
11:10Yeah, but, hey, man, look, championships matter, man.
11:13I mean, okay, let's take, like, good, great players, right?
11:17Let's say Eli Manning.
11:19We look at him, I don't know, he's a hell of a quarterback.
11:22You know, I thought Peyton was better, but Eli, guess what?
11:26He's going to get a gold jacket.
11:28Now, if he wouldn't have beat Tom Brady twice,
11:32there would probably be more questions of he's going to get the gold jacket.
11:35I don't know.
11:36But guess what?
11:37He beat Tom Brady twice in the Super Bowl.
11:39Damn it, Eli Manning, you know, on top of what he did,
11:43that propelled him to be amongst the greats that he's going to go
11:47in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
11:49So championships matter.
11:51And I just hate when people keep moving around.
11:53Until Patrick Mahomes and those guys, they get over four,
11:57which we've seen before by head coaches and quarterbacks.
12:00Now you got to get up into five.
12:02But to say seven, and then it's on two different teams?
12:06Come on, man.
12:08You know, ain't nobody talking about those championships games
12:10with Andrew Reid.
12:11He damn near lost.
12:12Ain't nobody talking about the Buffalo Bills like we would be talking with
12:14him.
12:15Why?
12:16Because they lost four Super Bowls.
12:17Don't nobody give a damn.
12:20Ty, what if Mahomes gets to five, wins this year, and wins next year,
12:26and has won four straight?
12:28Hold on.
12:29This is a real conversation.
12:32No, because just so you have it on the record, Ty,
12:34Wiggy thinks LeBron is better than Jordan.
12:36No, I don't.
12:37Yes, you do.
12:38No, I've always said there are people out there that believe it.
12:40But I don't believe it.
12:41I'm about to say, Wiggy, you just go ahead and answer the swear, Jordan.
12:44No, no.
12:45Listen, I like LeBron.
12:461,000%.
12:47No, I've never did.
12:48I like LeBron.
12:49No, stop it.
12:50Stop it.
12:51Stop it.
12:52I'm an eight.
12:53I told you.
12:54I'm a basketball fan.
12:55I like LeBron, but he's not better than Jordan.
12:56My question is, because it's a realistic chance that.
12:59He just denies it, and he's so confident.
13:02Right.
13:03Why would I ever have LeBron James above Michael Jordan?
13:06You did.
13:07No, I wouldn't, Greg.
13:08Stop it.
13:09Stop it.
13:10I'm going to take a straight cap, and I'm not even going to entertain that conversation.
13:13I'm not even going to entertain it.
13:16When you look at this year, there's a realistic chance that Mahomes wins three in a row.
13:22And then next year, they're going to be the favorite.
13:24If he's able to pull that off, five Super Bowls, and four of them have come in four
13:31years in a row, would that kind of speed up the GOAT conversation between him and Brady?
13:39Yeah, it'll definitely speed up because of the trajectory that Patrick Mahomes is on.
13:43Like I said, you take their first seven years, you know, his numbers are better.
13:48They have the same amount of championships, but his numbers are better.
13:52But you also got to understand the type of offense where Brady was at and how much they
13:57tried to lean on him.
13:59But the conversation will definitely change.
14:01He'll be getting closer, but then seven is still more than five, period.
14:08Four straight is tough, though.
14:10Until you start getting, you know, up in there, at least, you know, think about it.
14:15Michael Jordan, he wanted to get more than Magic Johnson.
14:19That was one of his goals getting there.
14:21He went and got six.
14:22Back to back, three piece.
14:24I mean, three piece, retire, come back, three piece.
14:27Brady gets his.
14:29Some time went past.
14:31He comes back again.
14:33Talk about totality, body of work, and get three more.
14:37Then he leaves.
14:39When they say, oh, all this stuff, and he goes down to Tampa and get another one.
14:44And damn near got another one in Tampa.
14:47So, come on.
14:48Let's be realistic.
14:50So, yes, he could be in the conversation because guess what?
14:52That puts him over everyone else.
14:54David is going to put him over to Joe Montanez and whoever else won multiple Super Bowls,
14:59you know, as a quarterback.
15:01You know, I just think that it's too premature, and I'm looking forward to seeing
15:06what he does in totality.
15:08But what he's doing right now is absolutely incredible.
15:11It's absolutely incredible.
15:12But to put him in saying the GOAT right now, way too premature, way too early.
15:17Because a lot of people can have success on the front end of the career and,
15:21for whatever reason, don't have the success on the back end.
15:24To have a run of 20 straight years going to how many Super Bowls?
15:30Nine, 10 Super Bowls?
15:31I mean, he's batting 500 going to Super Bowls.
15:35It's one thing about the championship game.
15:37It's another thing about the Super Bowls.
15:39So, Patrick Mahone, all the credit, he deserves it because he's doing something
15:44we've never seen before, you know, as far as in the beginning of his career.
15:48But we have seen four Super Bowls before.
15:51We've seen that.
15:52That ain't nothing new.
15:54It's been done multiple times already.
15:56It ain't never been done seven.
15:58It ain't never been done six.
16:01I'm sorry.
16:02I'm sorry.
16:03As of right now, you are picking the Chiefs?
16:07As of right now, yeah, because I won't go against Patrick Mahone until somebody
16:14knocked those guys off the mantle.
16:17You know what I mean?
16:18I'm just saying.
16:19But I just think, you know, Philly has a great opportunity if they can go
16:22and control the game with Saquon Barkley.
16:24I think their defense is a little better.
16:27I like the coordinators, you know, better from the coaching.
16:30You know, expect, hey, man, that dude be drawing up some defenses.
16:33But can they perform and make the plays when needed?
16:37Okay.
16:38I think Philly overall has a better defense.
16:40Final one from me.
16:41What is the number one must-have go-to Super Bowl party appetizer?
16:47I know it's probably cliche, but wings.
16:53I mean, you've got to have the wings.
16:55And then you've got to have your Corpus to drink.
16:59I mean, that's the only thing.
17:00You've got to have wings and Corpus.
17:02That's what I said.
17:05Give me some lemon pepper.
17:07Ty Law, we will talk to you again next week.
17:09All right.
17:10See you next week, guys.
17:11Talk to you later.
