00:00All right. Speaking of taking bets, the offshore markets are, you know, there's a big clampdown on them.
00:04And I'm actually surprised that a lot of the states have been successful in sending these cease and desist.
00:09So now another one comes out. Michigan says to the company, my bookie, no more taking bets.
00:15Do you think my bookie will Sam obliged to this?
00:18I was very surprised to see that a lot of the offshores have obliged to it.
00:22I just didn't know what the thinking was there.
00:25Yeah, it's it's definitely a valid point.
00:28We one of the reasons we haven't seen states really or even federal authorities really crack down on it for that matter is because a lot of states lack the jurisdiction to really enforce these rules.
00:37What they can do and what Michigan's done in this case is send a cease and desist to the operator of my bookie.
00:43It's a Curacao based company called Duranba, which, you know, offers my bookie across across the country without paying fees, taxes, regulations.
00:54The fact that Michigan has had success stopping previous other bookies like Papaya Gaming, like Bovada, they've had success with that.
01:03So we'll have to see.
01:05Maybe we'll have success here with this, but they kind of lack the teeth to really enforce it.
01:09But so far, it's been these companies kind of backing off saying, you know what, we're fine just leaving Michigan.
01:13We have enough states we can do business in.
01:16So Michigan's kind of taking the lead on this.
01:18I think it'll be really interesting to see sort of who is next in this offshore bookie space and also which states follow.
01:25And when do we get to a point where these companies say, OK, actually, we're going to start fighting here.
01:29So an interesting one.
