00:08I mean there are a lot of interlinks between what faith means to you

00:11personally and what you did in the movie. What does faith means to you and what is

00:21very broad answer I'd have to give in terms of faith. I'm a Hindu and I believe

00:27in you know the way I worship God. It could be different from the way you

00:32worship, the way I worship, the way you talk to God, the way you go to the... I

00:37don't believe that I should go only to the temple to have a conversation with

00:42God. I sit down in my car when I'm going I suddenly you know feel like okay I

00:46need to ask God this thing. Now I like to have a thing you know conversation with

00:51God. I believe you know you close your eyes here with God, you know with a

00:55pure heart whatever you give God with that's the what even the movie Kannapa

01:00is about. You know with a pure heart with a good intention however you worship

01:06God, God will hear you and God is there always with you. Has it always growing up

01:11has faith always played such an instrumental part in your life? No always

01:15always. My dad is very religious. I remember you telling me that your father

01:19doesn't let you get out of the house without feeding your cows. I'm not wrong.

02:03and I go. I go to temples, I question God a lot, I question the rituals a lot you

02:09know why should only this happen why can't I do with that. There's no there's

02:12nothing wrong in questioning religion because you shouldn't blindly follow you

02:16should not blindly follow whatever you know rituals they say this is how it

02:20should be done why should it be done in certain way. If you're convinced with

02:24that answer then you should do it. Don't just blindly follow it, question it then

02:29you'll find the answer and do it with even more rigor. Right, coming to Kanapa

02:34why Kanapa at this juncture in your professional as well as personal career

02:39I think we all have heard about how the idea came about how Mr. Tanikela

02:43Burney had played a role in that but right now I think with OTT coming in it

02:47has revolutionized the way content is perceived in a lot of ways. There's more

02:51go to it, there's more blood to it etc but there's also this parallel trend of

02:56patriotism slash mythological stories making it really big. Why Kanapa? What

03:01led to you getting convinced about the movie in the first place and if today's

03:06Gen Z's or Millennials are to watch it the obvious question why should they watch it?

03:21Kanapa after almost 50 years of that last time the story was told I'm making

03:27this story. People who were born in the last 30 years vaguely remember Kanapa

03:34only people probably who go to Sri Kalahasti temple and they hear the

03:38legend of Kanapa people might not but I think after 50 years it's Lord Shiva's

03:43you know order to me to retell the story of Kanapa to again show to this

03:50generation the story of Kanapa and this is my version of Kanapa. Got it.
