00:04according to the Provincial Veterinary Office.
00:07This is Dennis Nebrejo of PIA Mimaropa with the country's latest news.
00:13The Provincial Veterinary Office of the Province of Marinduque
00:17is now under control and there is no new case of African Swine Fever or ASF
00:21according to the statement of an official of the province.
00:24In the statement of PIA Marinduque to Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Josue Victoria,
00:29it was stated that the province of Marinduque is currently in the pink zone category.
00:34This means that there is no new case of disease in the towns of Mogpog,
00:40Buwak, Gasan, Torijos, and Santa Cruz in the past 3 months.
00:44The town of Buenavista is in the category of yellow zone
00:48which means that there is no ASF case in the past 6 months.
00:53The ASF was last reported in the town of Santa Cruz in July 2024
00:59where it originated from the entry of live pigs from other provinces
01:04that affected 6 barangays in the area.
01:07Even though there is no case, Victoria said that monitoring should be done
01:12to have ways to take care of the industry of pigs.
01:18Last year, the number of ASF pigs was less than 2,000 to 3,000
01:24while the number of healthy pigs was only 300.
01:29Meanwhile, Victoria urged the pig farmers
01:33to have their pigs insured by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation
01:38so that they can receive payment if their pigs die because of the disease.
01:43The Provincial Veterinary Office of Marinduque continues to monitor the pigs
01:48to have ways to take care of them if there is a new case.
01:52From the Philippine Information Agency, MIMAROPA,
