00:00One of the things that attracted the attention of many

00:03is its various images in the parades.

00:07All of them were approved by the Catholic Church.

00:10Let's find out.

00:19The devotion to the Holy Nine is deeply rooted in our Filipino culture.

00:25Many of us have our own images of the Holy Nine in our homes.

00:31But just recently, before the feast of the Holy Nine on January 19,

00:36the images of the Holy Nine that were not approved

00:40or recognized by the Catholic Church spread and became a hot topic online.

00:45At times, the Church noticed that there were versions

00:52that were not approved or not in line with the Catholic faith

01:00or the doctrine of the Church.

01:02In particular, the so-called

01:07Santo Niño de la Suerte,

01:10which is a bird, or an owl, or an owl

01:14that is related to those who believe in the Church, in idolatry.

01:22The popularity of the devotion to the Holy Nine

01:26has already surpassed the various styles of the Holy Nine in our country.

01:35It is unknown to many Catholics

01:37that there are images that are related to other beliefs

01:41that are centered on luck and magic.

01:44But what are the examples of images that the Church is monitoring?

01:50There are two images that the Church is monitoring.

01:53The Santo Niño de la Suerte, which is said to give good things,

01:59and the Santo Niño de la Pera,

02:03the Santo Niño with an owl and coins of gold, usually,

02:08because this is not a proper depiction of our Lord.

02:14There are also posters that say the Holy Niño de Palaboy,

02:19Santo Niño Hubad, Santo Niño de Sacristán, and others.

02:24How can we determine if the image is true or false?

02:29Here, we can see that there is a crown, a cedro, and a globe.

02:35That is the official version that should be imitated.

02:39Others allow the image of the Lord in half,

02:43the image of the hand, or the image of the Child of God,

02:48like the one behind me, the Santo Niño de la Sagrado Corazón,

02:53the one with a heart.

02:54They allow the image of the Lord.

02:56As long as there is no violation of idolatry.

03:02We can see that the Santo Niño de Cebu

03:06is not sure of the correct image of the Child.

03:09According to Father Dom,

03:10the reason why there are non-approved images being made

03:16is because the images related to luck are bought.

03:20His message to the Catholics

03:22is that the images of the Santo Niño are being owned.

03:26The Church prohibits the use of the Santo Niño.

03:32We just need to be careful if this is according to the Church's teaching.

03:39According to Father Dom,

03:41even if there is an effect on our belief

03:43that there is a false image of the Santo Niño,

03:46these images will not go away from us from the Lord.

03:50However, our faith is not based on visual aids,

03:56but on what is inside our hearts,

03:59and what is taught as an official doctrine and creed of the Church.
