00:00A car that reaches the potential user by itself allows you to drive to the destination and then departs autonomously towards a parking lot, a charging station or a new customer.
00:13This is the vision of Urban Mobility of the Future that A2A and the Politecnico di Milano are actually transforming.
00:19The first kilometer in fully autonomous driving mode has been traveled today in Brescia by a Fiat 500 electric,
00:26giving way to the innovative experiment that will last a year and which aims to improve the efficiency of urban mobility by promoting the decarbonization of cities
00:35and to develop a unique autonomous driving car sharing service in Europe that exceeds the current limits of shared cars.
00:43This project is a project that goes in the direction of shared sustainable mobility.
00:48It is an innovative car sharing where, by exploiting autonomous driving, the car in car sharing comes to pick you up on its own and when you arrive at the destination it goes to park on its own.
01:00So let's imagine that it can be a very important game changer and relaunch car sharing even in a reality where it has not been successful so far precisely because of the lack of vehicles.
01:12And it is a way to promote this shared sustainable and electric mobility that is completely central in our projects.
01:23Moreover, we are working for the wireless charging of these vehicles, which we imagine will be the future also for our cities.
01:31The project, part of the MOST research program, the National Center for Sustainable Mobility,
01:36aims to respond to the challenges of the decarbonization of cities by contributing to the reduction of traffic and environmental sustainability.
01:43To cover the first kilometer in complete autonomy, years of research and study have been needed,
01:48but what has been achieved with the launch of the experiment on the road is not only a starting point but also a starting point.
01:54It is a starting point because it values so much research done in recent years.
01:58It is a starting point because today, for the first time, on the public road,
02:02with a ministerial authorization that allows us to conduct experiments on the public road,
02:07we have shown how it is possible to use this technology for new mobility models.
02:13So not as a tool for the private sector, but as a tool to enable more efficient and sustainable innovative mobility models.
02:21For the Brescia mayor's office, the launch of the experiment represents the confirmation of the city's desire to bet on the future.
02:28The choice of the brand, that is, the narrative of our vision,
02:33is condensed in the slogan Brescia, your European city, because that's where we want to go.
02:40In this case, also offering the possibility of an experiment that potentially comes out of the borders of the city,
02:48national borders, and goes to Europe.
02:51We are very attentive to the issues of sustainability, the issue of public transport.
02:57We are a city of 200,000 inhabitants, but for 12 years now it has a light metropolitan area.
03:05In October, the construction sites of the electric tram of the surface will start.
03:10Here, in Via Sperimentale, another block is added related to the theme of car sharing.
03:16So an additional potential in the service, we hope, of our fellow citizens.
