The digital affairs ministry says undersea internet cables connecting Taiwan's Matsu with the main island have been severed. Reuters, citing sources, says one cable was completely disconnected while another seriously malfunctioned. The Digital Affairs Ministry said during a press conference the severing was likely the result of aging core wires.
