00:06It is hoped that it will become more widespread.

00:09After tripling the fund for the program this year,

00:15BN Manalo is in the center of the news.

00:20Currently, under their on-the-job training in Barangay Hall of Tandang Sora in Quezon City,

00:26Grade 12 students Jara, Rafael, and Karl

00:30are encoding some of their tasks,

00:32arranging important documents,

00:35and doing research.

00:37That's why free Wi-Fi is a big deal for them

00:40because it makes their work easier.

00:43It helps us because we have an O.G.T. here.

00:47Just like that, we are looking for research about O.G.T.

00:52in our work.

00:53It helps us.

00:56For example, we do something on the computer

00:59or sometimes we don't know what we're doing

01:01so we do research on our phone.

01:03Aside from Barangay Hall, they are also using free Wi-Fi

01:07in some public places and streets.

01:10I'd like to say thank you because it's really helpful

01:13during O.G.T. and other working hours.

01:17Thank you very much, government, for your free Wi-Fi.

01:20I hope we can use it for a long time.

01:22The government allocated more than 7.5 billion pesos

01:26for the Free Wi-Fi for All Program

01:28under the 2025 National Budget.

01:31According to a lawmaker,

01:33this is triple the amount of the previous funds

01:36allocated for the program.

01:38This will be used to expand

01:41password-free public Internet hotspots

01:43throughout the Philippines.

01:45The additional funds will also be allocated

01:47to build more than 50,000 public Wi-Fi hotspots,

01:51especially in the so-called

01:53geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

01:57To all my fellow public servants,

01:59my challenge to you is to spread these initiatives

02:03to all corners of the Philippines,

02:05especially to those who remain without access to the Internet.

02:09Free Wi-Fi hotspots will also help

02:12improve public access to online learning

02:15and distance education.

02:17It is also a target for our fellow Filipinos

02:20who live in rural communities

02:22to have access to important online resources,

02:25such as government skills training and services,

02:28and to help them find work and make a living.

02:32Let us remain steadfast in our belief

02:35that working side by side,

02:36pressing on,

02:37keeping our promises,

02:39one by one,

02:40we will attain a Bagong Pilipinas

02:42that fosters a more secure,

02:44comfortable and fulfilled life for everyone.
