00:00rescue is one of them. You've got that, you've got the paramedics, you've got the
00:04nurses. Politicians are sort of a little bit down the track a little bit, but what
00:08people are looking for are those who will help them. So every single time you
00:12don on that uniform and you go to an event, whether it's a social event or
00:17whether it's a you know a response to an incident, people look at you with
00:21incredible pride. As the minister, I look at you with incredible pride. I make it
00:25my business to learn everything about the work that you do and my commitment
00:30is to make sure that I will do everything I can to make things better.
00:34We're working through that to see this has been great. The change in approach
00:42to make sure everybody feels included is coming out in sensible ways. Our fire
00:47rescue service is reflective of our community and I want every single person,
00:52every young person and every other person to go, I can be one of those and
00:56to know what that pathway is. So to come down here today is my privilege and my
01:02great honour to be able to be welcomed here, to be able to join you, to be able
01:06to meet with you, but also to be able to personally thank you for the work that
01:10you do. You don't do it for the thanks and the thanks will never be enough, but
01:15your response when other people's first response is to move away, is to go into
01:22the eye of danger and that could be the difference between a life and a death
01:26and I think that's something that we should never ever underestimate. So
01:28thanks so much for everything that you do. Thank you for the effort that you
01:33make. Thank you for welcoming us and I'm so glad to be able to see that this
01:37upgrade has been able to be used with firefighters in mind and it will continue
01:43with that and to all the local leadership and of course to all the
01:46local firefighters. Thank you. I know I keep saying firefighters, much more than
01:50that, but I really do thank you. And to all the youngsters here, you should be
01:54really proud of mum and dad because they're pretty heroic in what they do,
01:58plus they're also pretty cool in the work that they do. Everyone loves them
02:02and hopefully one day you too might decide to join New South Wales Fire and
02:06Rescue. So thanks so much everyone. Really lovely to see you. I think that
02:10might end the formalities.
