00:00Philippines will be the presenter of the upcoming ASEAN Tourism Forum next year
00:05which will be another milestone for the country.

00:12approves release of over 30 billion pesos to cover pensions of military and uniformed personnel
00:18for the first quarter of the year.

00:26The country will host the 2026 ASEAN Tourism Forum or ATF
00:32with Secretary of Tourism Cristina Garcia Frasco accepting the craftsmanship on January 2025.
00:39The ATF will include the ASEAN Tourism Minister's meeting in Cebu
00:43alongside preparatory meetings in Manila and Boracay.
00:46Frasco emphasized Cebu's potential for sustainable tourism
00:49and the Philippines' commitment to responsible tourism.
00:52The event will also feature a Travex trade show and conferences.
00:56This follows the country's successful hosting of the 36th UN Tourism Joint Commission meeting
01:02and the UN Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism.
01:07The Philippines and Thailand signed a five-year tourism cooperation deal on January 19, 2025
01:13to strengthen bilateral ties.
01:15The agreement focuses on enhancing tourism management,
01:18sharing best practices and joint marketing efforts.
01:21Key areas include cultural and medical tourism, sustainable practices and capacity building.
01:26A joint working group will oversee the program, running from 2025 to 2030,
01:31aiming to boost tourism and offer a unique experience by combining each country's strengths.
01:39The Department of Budget and Management or DBM upgraded its website
01:43to improve speed and capacity due to increased user traffic.
01:48The DBM dismissed rumors about edits to the 2025 General Appropriations Act or GAA,
01:53confirming that no sections were missing.
01:55The DBM also highlighted the country's recognition as Asia's most fiscally transparent country
02:01and urged the public to avoid spreading misinformation.
02:04Relevant documents, including the GAA 2025, are available on the DBM website.
02:10DBM Secretary Amina Pangandaman approved the release of Php30.409 billion
02:17for the pensions of military and uniformed personnel for Quarter 1, 2025.
02:22Such funds will be allocated to the Armed Forces,
02:25Department of the Interior and Local Government Agencies, NAMRIA,
02:28and the Department of Transportation's Philippine Coast Guard.
02:31These releases are based on the pension payroll submitted as of December 31, 2024.
